Its bad food and bad pots so it doesnt really matter imo. The only p2w(ish) part of the crown store are the experience scrolls. For all the other (combat) consumables youre beter off with crafted itmes, which are readily available.

And how many mounts are there that are obtainable by gold in the game? I'll tell you a little secret, you can count it on ONE FREAKING HAND, and the rest is on the crown store.

    Don't believe me?

    mounts.png

When are they going to add new mounts and costumes that can be acquired outside of the crown store? THAT, is what people should be asking ZOS. It's painfully obvious they have zero intentions on bringing new mounts or costumes that we can get without throwing real money at em.

In the Imperial City DLC there are several costumes and pet(s?) you can acquire in game.

    New Collectibles
We have added new Collectibles that you can permanently add to your collection:
•The Necrotic Hoarvor Pet can be acquired by completing the achievement “Imperial City Challenger.” This achievement is the ultimate test of your skills in the new Veteran Dungeons found in the Imperial City.
•The Soul Shriven skin and the Stonefire Scamp Pet can rarely be obtained by defeating the elite Daedric forces and their master in the darkest depths of the Imperial Sewers.
•The Xivkyn Dreadguard, Xivkyn Tormentor, and Xivkyn Augur Polymorphs can very rarely be found in Imperial Reward containers, purchasable from Tel Var Lockbox merchants and Tel Var Greater Lockbox merchants who are found in your alliance’s base in the Imperial City Sewers.

they have no use other than cosmetics now after the update on them... and if you want a better looking one then spend money on it. there will always be more cosmetics in the crown store how else will they make the money to pay the employees to make new dlc and maintenance the servers and ect. not by providing free stuff. large games like this rely on the paying customer who continually supports them to keep the game going for more things. if it wasn't for that the game would have died long ago and never even made it to console. I cant believe how many people just cant grasp this. its real world real people do the work and make real money from working. if you have such an issue just buy some crowns and move about your day. and i know how many there are and again just cosmetic...

Any hope of non for-pay mount additions went out the window when they dropped the subscription requirement. This is what the "ESO community" (Not THIS ESO community... but the ESO community somewhere) asked for.

Oh, and the "hint" comes from the ESO Live with Rich Lambert. Someone asked a question specifically about obtaining rare or special mounts in game, and he said "wait for Orsinium" (obviously paraphrasing and not word for word. Feel free to go watch that ESO live though and take it as you like.

Unfortunately, the devs are not normally in charge of what goes into an in-game real dollar market. Some bean counter in a board room decides that the crown store is falling behind in revenue, and dictates that a minimum dollar income must be meet. So items are added to bring in cash.

There is a new costume unlocked once you achieve VR16. As well, you must defeat elite bosses to have a shot at the soul shriven costume (polymorph, whatever) and one of the pets. The first pet listed you need to complete an achievement to receive (an achievement tied to dungeons, just like you just mentioned).

There is 1 pet already available in the base game that is unlocked via a quest, as well multiple costumes unlocked by certain VR levels.

xp scrolls are worse? 2 hrs per scroll vs xp pot 30mins with provisioning thing its 50mins so it is still viable but without it its a 4 to 1 ratio of xp. =p not to mention lack of days spent on riding skills but tbh i only buy them if i have nothing else to get with my monthly crowns haha

Some people can't afford tripots with gold and have irl money instead, nbd really and it doesnt sell at stacks at a time.

I'm not going to consider it P2W till they start selling 1 CP for 5$ and 5 for 20$ :p

Just being available is not the only point. It should be fun or challenging depending on how "epic" the mount or costume looks. What they have done with the lockboxes is terribly lazy.

well an "epiclook" is an opinion how do they determine what appeals to everyone? something that i think looks epic may not be epic to someone else. it shouldn't be based on look if anything.

I think that the Crown Store works very well, there are no essential items, no items you can't get better in the game except those that are purely cosmetic anyway, and most importantly for me the cash shop system isn't rammed in my face every time I log in, look at the screen, or log out of the game. That's a huge bonus when compared to how other games push their cash shops.

Don't worry the cost of all the crown store items will keep many away from buying them anyways. ZOS would do better if they lowered all their prices by like 10-15% or at least have monthly sales!

It's called "moving the goal posts". You may notice OP has done it several times in this thread. It started as a rant about "what happened to only cosmetic items in the Crown store?" (this despite the fact that it was always "cosmetic and convenience items"), until it was pointed out that the consumables he was upset about are worse than crafted ones. Then it became "how come new mounts are Crown store instead of in-game?" (this despite the fact that mount skins are purely cosmetic, and he originally was complaining that only cosmetics should be in the Crown store), until it was pointed out that they are adding various cosmetic items that are obtainable in-game. Then it became "but I don't like the specific way they made a couple of those specific items available in-game". Who knows where the goal posts will be moved to next?

    How exactly is that "winning"?

Most serious pvpers run food and pots to begin with, so why would me buying a few for myself be unfair? Its not like everyone doesnt have the same access, and in PVE it literally doesnt even matter.
