As you can see, a good amount of players have found spots to stand on and kill groups of mobs using destruction staff heavy attacks, using rubber bands / or whatever else, to continuously hold down the trigger of their controller while they go on with their everyday lives, whether it be work, leisure, or sleep.

Do you not take this as a form of botting?

Unless Zenimax states rubberbanding is punishable there is nothing that can be done, unless they make Heavy Attacks require you actually lift your finger or rubberband off the trigger to execute the next one.

A very inefficient way of botting. Also they are not technically using any 3rd party software so it doesn't violate any ToS thus not a offence. Rubberbanding or ductaping your controller is not a software.

I do not agree with this at any rate, but I will ask you.....

How is this hurting your gaming experience at all? It isn't like we cannot out kill someone if they are warming up a single heavy attack on a mob I am fairly certain that if you wanted to you could kill any mob that they are targeting before they could even get the spell off.

Again I do not agree nor do I like it when I run across this, but how exactly is it hurting us?

    Just asking?

Other than the "How dare they earn EXP when not playing like I am"
    Whats the big deal?

There is one way it can hurt others. Those that prefer to cut corners like this through the game to get to end level PvP miss out on a lot of learn as you go and thus will make less of a challenge in PvP. Good for those that like their easy kills because they didn't, you know, "git gud" but bad for those bored of PvP because nothing and no one challenges them. I know people do this kind of stuff normally because they have no time to play but the thing they don't realize is if they have no time to play they should just not play at all because frankly they will have no time to use what they cut corners to get.

i just wish theyd make questing more rewardable than grinding mobs.
i know they are upping the XP for questing, but it still sounds like it will be less than grinding zombies.

i can't understand why they should reward someone for 'not playing the game' they put so much time into designing.
most of my good friends dont grind mobs, and even though they play twice as much as everyone else i know they are only around v6-9 while everyone else has been @ v14 for a month, SMFH.

I got to V14 with a Sorc just doing quests and killing any mobs I came across while questing, however I am slightly struggling with my NB but that's has nothing to do with the game but the way I am playing and most probably the build set up.

Once you have been through the same story twice, and it is the same story no matter which faction you choose, you may like others not want to quest ever again.... At this point what do you do to level, there is no other way, other than grinding.

Most people just want to get to max level so they can do trials and Vet dungeons for something worthwhile and more importantly to be competitive in PVP.

As for the arguement they will be Terribad because they leveled like this is nonsense, we only have a max of 10 skills to master, this is not difficult. There is nothing you will learn from fighting mobs in this game, they are far to easy to kill, so easy in fact most just spam one attack to kill them.

Instead of attacking those that are bored with questing how about applying preassure on ZOS to add alternative options to leveling. I.e. make PVP viable to level, improve GF so people can easily find a group to level in dungeons. Add alternative areas for dailies.

I think this is a really big deal because of the PVP aspect. Champion points and getting to max level and wrecking other players in PvP to claim "skill bruh".

If PVP didn't exist, I would probably feel different.

Someone afk farming is not going to get any champion points, simply because they only take on 1-2 mobs at a time, which respawn at a slowish rate.

Someone afk farming is going to be the same as a few hours questing, as they can only gain 5 levels until they get zero exp, which will take them a LONG time.

I found someone trying this trick in a cadwells silver zone, he was vr2 fighting vr5 mobs, using the same rubber band r2 trick.

I went there for one day, using an exp scroll I went from vr1 to vr7 in a days grinding. Whilst also collecting a metric *** ton of loot and gold.

Guess what? After that entire day he was still vr2. Judging from how many mobs he was killing, I can't estimate more than 50k exp per hour, which would take about 20 hours for one vr level, so quite literially 20x as long as you at vr ranks to level.

Very inefficient, might only be useful if they did it for a month whilst away at work or something. Otherwise literially zero point.

Your post makes literially zero sense. Anybody in the world can chuck a rubber band on their controller, if you actually read my post you would see that anyone actually playing the game will level far far faster, in 2 days of actually playing a game it would take 2 weeks of rubber banding to get anywhere near the same exp.

So my point was clear, it doesn't give them tons of CP, it doesn't give them any advantages, hell they're missing out on most of the loot and gold too!!

It's a very very very slow way to level, which leaves you without any gold and materials for crafting, so eventually they will HAVE to grind/quest to actually get any endgame / crafted gear.

So to get this straight, you posted on here to attack me, when you don't care about what other people do, and it doesn't bother you, and has no effect on you, yet you still felt the need to rage post.

You really need to sit and calm down, hence why zos shut down your other rage thread, you sound like a very angry child.

Question, How does want their doing hurt your experience in anyway?

Because they will end up grinding CP all day and all night long, whilst going about their normal lives. Ultimately this leads to an imbalance as they hit huge CP numbers on their characters. All of this done very cheaply, whilst not actually playing or grinding for the right to have them.

Not really the case though, as even as of just a few weeks ago, with pc players having had CP for a while now, less than 50 players had over 600cp, so it's hardly causing people to gain hundreds upon hundreds of CP without doing anything.

At that rate over a week they would be lucky to gain what? 15cp? Maybe 20? When anyone can log in on a daily basis to get their enlightened CP for essentially a couple of quests. Which I don't believe the rubber banders will get due to not exiting the game.

For anyone actually playing the game, it's a huge waste of time, as anyone can go do quests/grinding etc to gain CP at a much faster rate, there would be little point for them to want to leave their console on 24/7 in the hopes of gaining a couple extra cp's.

Like I said they are also missing out on gold, and loot, both will be needed for the endgame so they're going to have to go back and grind out a million plus gold in order to purchase new armor sets etc.

If they play their normal day, and then do this whilst asleep, they'll still end up with an advantage over someone who merely switches the game off.

It might not make a big difference in a week, but it will in the long term.

i have accidentally been on top of something whilst attacking a mob. When they get close they tend to reset when they cant get you unless you kill them before.

it's probably an easy fix for ZOS to stop this because there is already existing mechanics within the mob reset code, and it will probably be fixed in a few patches. Don't sweat it, they'll get rubbish XP especially with a few of them stacked as they are.

Exploits will always be found and always be patched, this one is a pretty poor exploit at that from what i've seen/experienced/read.

Totally a cheap and cheating tactic. No, it isn't as fast as grinding yourself or questing, but they aren't even there. Thus while they are at work or sleeping they are still advancing their character development, albeit slowly. In my opinion this is a direct violation of the Terms of Service Agreement. A rubber band or duct tape is modified hardware. If these players are not smacked down with the band stick, ZOS should at least fix the heavy attack on destruction staff where it functions in the same way as a bow heavy attack. I.e. unspammable.

Btw - rubberbanding does work faster than some are claiming. In the time that i was grinding around Vivec's Antlers on Dreugh i saw (and reported) several players constantly there for days who managed to level 2-3 veteran ranks... At the rate of around a rank a day. I leveled more, but i was actively playing my butt off and they weren't even there. If this was a single player game; who cares? But it is a mmorpg and they are gaining advantage without earning it and further - draining ZOS resources.

I am a fool and optimist enough to hope and push for all the above to be fixed. Just because there are bugs to be fixed elsewhere doesn't mean it is cool for people to cheat the game and gain levels and CP without playing. I would like a game that works and a stop to cheating.
