Hi guys , lots of my friends already leaving the game because the level was in crease to v16 and they even hate the veteran system , right now my friends online is like 3-5 players online out of my 100 friends in eso... so can you please just stop increasing the levels? instead just make a special item drop and lots of rare item that hard to get from monster drop and can only be found in the special maps?

    Really ???

Takes about a day of casual play to get from 14 to 16.

Not a great fan of the CP system as there's other VR14 (console guy here) that have 300-900 CP which, when I'm being ganked (often & quick as a rule being solo Pve in Cyro), reminds me of my paltry 95.
Of those, nearly 70 of them are from Cyro which I first entered at VR12(.5 ish).

So unless I change to Pvp & group play, and do many many hours of such playing catch up, I will always be the weakest at any given VR level against other players.
That's an awkward situation to see a guy your "level" coming at you, whos attacks & gear & defenses quickly prove (yes ignore my rubbish Pvp skills for a moment) that he can 2-3 shot me in my best crafted armour, whilst I cannot break 20% of his HP in same time.

I don't have the answer, doubt there is one, this is just a personal gripe as a diehard Pve type in a "war zone" MMO.
Yes I bought an MMO, but I always imagined there would be a point where all teamed to conquer the common enemy (insert politically incorrect Monty Python joke here)...not forever fighting other peoples characters.

    "Even in PvP"?

When you get to VR15 you don't get much XP outside Cyrodiil.

Get to VR16 and if you want to get CP you're forced there.

I don't think this was by accident. If they continue to raise the VR cap you will be forced to buy DLC if you want to progress up the CP ladder.

I don't see why VR14-VR16 would drive people away more than VR1-VR16. Being console its not like these things were slowly introduced VR10 then VR12 then VR14, now VR16. You start now and you will have a VR16 mountain to climb and you soon realise how slowly VRs level and your just doing quests for other factions a lot turn away.

If people aren't willing to make alts because of the "effort" of leveling then why is it any different for new players.
The thought of hitting VR14 drove a lot of my friends away from continuing to play on the console. The questing is good but a lot of people want to do other content also, at level 50 finishing the main story you do feel a bit tired of questing and want to try other stuff, pledged and undaunted Veteran pledge. Sounds great, but it is difficult to find groups to do the dungeons which is what we were most interested in doing. With poor grouping system and no way to communicate beyond local area microphone chat (no text chat) you stagnate
I imagine in 6-8 months time if VRs are at VR20, would that appeal as a new player? And the more VRs they add the more crafting materials and resources so the harder it will be to move away from VRs how else can you define a crafting material but by level of gear it can make.

If ZOS truely wish to move away from VRs they need to address it and address it now. Or retract the statement.

TL;DR - new players have to do VR1 to VRXX if people aren't willing to make alts why should new players be willing to continue playing? that to me is the bigger risk with VR cap raise. no new blood is the quickest way to kill a game

I've played for .... close to a year and a half and my highest is vet 3.

Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

OP I hear you and I am one of those also leaving because of the Veteran ranks. I really like ESO but I don't see myself wanting to spend my time on it until they remove the veteran ranks.

The problem isn't really the the VR ranks alone it's mainly the gated content. Who wants to quest FOREVER? that's why people grind. People grind in a quest-driven game, that on it's own shows a flawed game design. Yes players should grind if they want to, I dont mind. It's either grind mobs or grind quests, or just take it casually and reach the end-game content in 1 year.

hi, you and your friends are ignorant of the fact that the number of vet levels increased yet the total exp to get to max actually decreased. tell them this. it takes less exp to get from v1-16 than it used to to get v1-14. your welcome=)

Took me 3 months to go from 1 to VR 12 on one character playing "normally" (20 something hrs a week or so). Some may consider that hardcore but they spend as much time watching football all weekend. I don't care about VR anymore. I gotten use to them after 3.5 months. I explore every map, quest, and earn skill points along the way not AOE grind to max VR.

Other console players may not be as forgiving. VR 14 is a looooong way off for many and the DLC raised the limit to 16 so close to release. Ps4 - Only 11.6% of players have the level 50 trophy. I've posted that number a few times but let it sink in. 1 out of 10 or so players bother to level past 50. That's shockingly low.

From a buisness standpoint it seems like a bad ideal to drive off 90% of your (console) players. Again, don't care about VR ranks anymore it's the 90% of other console players who didn't even bother to get past 50 that's alarming. How long can a BtP game last with those numbers?

The more people who speak with their wallets the faster this junk system will be removed. I am tired of hearing about how VR is being "phased out" while all the content they keep making revolves around VR.

That's extremely slow leveling though, it's taken me 2 days of casual play (about 6 hours each day) to do vr1-7, actual hardcore players do vr1-14 in two days.

    1-50 is a days work.

I'm a 'casual' console player and have 3 vet characters, and 3 at 42-48. With my rough calculations of time allocation, alongside a few days here and there off of work coming up, I should have 3 VR16s by October.

Do not speakath the D word, terrible terrible memories.

@Swindy don't exaggerate, CPs aren't the issue, that's your own issue with skill, you said it yourself. There aren't tons of players with 900cp, the average pc transfer had somewhere around 100-200, have they suddenly managed to gain 6-9x the amount of CP in only a few months?

Besides after 300 you get diminishing returns, 0-300 CP difference is equivalent to 300-1600 as the returns become too small.

My chief complaint isn't the VR or the CP systems, it's that I ran out of content to get me there organically without having to grind. When they add more quests and places to adventure (either solo or group,or quests you can complete as a group) I'll be back. Grinders just aren't my thing, I'm more of the adventuring type.

why would anyone not want level increases? Its a way t keep the game going...people LIKE to level up....Also, it makes sense adding new caps, when you introduce new and more difficult areas....

    Pretty normal for any MMO

If that's why your friends are leaving...because of a 2 level increase...then i highly doubt they liked the game to begin with buddy.

This will add nothing to the conversation but I'll say it anyways. Why are people so concerned with veteran ranks? They're just levels. All mmos/rpg's have levels. I'm hearing it's due to people wanting to level fast and be at end game content. Why? You realize end game content is the end of the game right? So you get there quick, finish it, and have nothing to do but come to the forums and scream for more content you can skip. And so the cycle continues. Some say its due to their gear becoming obsolete. You do realize that this is an mmo, so to extend the life, things have to constantly change right? The longer I play mmos or perhaps the older I get I start to realize what a fickle bunch we are, myself included at times. We want something new and fresh, but exactly like the old we hold so dear. Hundreds of hours of content, but the option to skip all of it to get to the end game goodies. The ability to socialize and complete tasks with our friends, while being left alone and having all content soloable. New and better gear, that isn't better than our old gear. Things to do, goals to strive for, achievements to complete...but if they take effort or time then no way Jose. What is wrong with us?

The VR leveling I can deal with.. The CP system is something that is going to kill this game if it is not adjusted soon. No new players are going to buy this game 8-10 months from now if they are just going to get trolled by level 18 characters with 1200 CP's worth of advantages over them.

Allowing CP to be used on anything under Vet ranks is a suicidal plan on the part of ZO$.
I am all for finding a way to allow us players to continue progression of our character, but to do so at the expense of the game never surviving longer than a year or so no.. No I am not okay with that.

Two simple ways to fix this...
    1. CPs should not be shared to any character until they have hit at least VR One
    2. There needs to be CP free campaign options for Vet Ranked players..

Vet Ranks are not the problem honestly. It really isn't like this game is "Hard" or anything. The grind "If you could even call it that" in ESO is honestly harmless as far as the amount of grinding most MMO's have.

I see all of the post about the "GRIND" that ESO involves.. If people are QQing about this grind this must be their first MMO as I think ESO has very little actual "Grinding"!

I am one of the lucky ones that actually has the time on occasion to "grind" so the only reason I do not like the CP system is not because I personally find it hard as I do not.. I am one of the few that will reach max CP's in short order.. What I do have a problem with is the fact that just because I can hit those numbers I understand that any sane person in their right mind with any amount of competitive nature about them is simply not going to bother with giving ESO a try if they know they will never be able to play the game on a competitive level with myself and the other payers that have been here since launch.

That being said no new players = a dead game!

Level 18 players can't do anything to the new player for most content. I already get my butt kicked in PvP and I have 4 months from launch and all the time since TU. My highest level character is only vet 12. The fact that many players have better characters doesn't really matter for 98% of what I do. And if I get killed in PvP, so what?

The claim that new players will hate the game is a lot of projecting. It is quite ironic that so many people complain that this will make new players miserable and then they complain about bad players defeating good players through zerging. I think I believe the zerg complaints more.

I can't express how bizarre I find it that people don't want more levels in a persistent world game.

Normal games, you reach the end, or the cap, and that's it. You're done. Move on to another game. Pay another 60 dollars.

Here, we have characters we get to continue playing, expanding, growing, having more things to do, and you guys are complaining that there is more to do, more power to gain?

When did being capped and stuck at max power become a desirable feature?

Why even play an RPG. Let's just all start at and stay at Level 1.

My main is actually blowing through Veteran Ranks too fast. I don't want to run out of levels to gain and just do dungeons and content without any expansion.

Why do you want to stick at the same level and same gear indefinitely? Why don't you want new gains to come with new adventures? That's the whole point of an RPG.

If it helps, the official word is that there will not be any further Vet level increase in the next DLC (Orsinium). Also, ZoS is still figuring out how to get rid of the Vet level system, and that won't happen until after the Orsinium DLC - but I'd guess mid 2016 earliest.

Then quit as well in all honesty. MMO's clearly are not the type of game for you. Stop being lazy, if you ACTUALLY enjoy the game then you would welcome the opportunity to once again be able to increase your level/ power. There will be more level cap increases in the future/ there will always be better gear introduced that over shadows yours. There will always come to a point where you were settled and happy with what gear you have, and what you have achieved, but then something new will be introduced that will suddenly make said gear/ achievement, obsolete. This is the Axiom of MMORPG's.

This was not intended as an insult.
