Am I just missing these, or do they not exist? Also, I can't seem to find a way looking at the map to know what area's of each map are for what level characters. I'm feeling kinda lost on where to go at any particular point.
Like now, for instance . I just finished the Dourstone Isle quest and I have nothing in my journal. No clue as to where I should go now. I could go on the internet and look up the 'Main" quest line and the guild quest lines and head to the next one, but you'd think there would be something in-game to let me know generally where I should go.
Easiest way, is to follow the main quest line for the zone you're in. You will encounter other quests along the way. After completing the main quest, explore the zone. Open up the journal, required quest level is shown inside.
Quests showing in green text are at your current level (I think). Quests with yellow text are a level or two below your current level.
Addon's are available for pc users. Ones like 'destinations' & undiscovered are a great help.
Btw. Point your cursor at any npc, their level is shown.

Reall? I'm always level 8 by the time I leave the starter islands and they take a couple of hours.
Well worth the time.

This is only true if you hate actually playing the game content. The starter islands should level you to about 8 (give or take a level), introduce you to some common quest mechanics (things like using disguises), get you used to using your skills and start to figure out what does and doesn't work for you, introduce some of the most interesting recurring characters in the faction, and start the faction questline (some of which doesn't make much sense at all if you haven't done the starter islands).Sithisvoid wrote: »IMO starter islands are a complete waste of time. It's an Elder Scrolls game. That means you just have to explore. You'll come across quest givers pretty much everywhere, and as you explore it's generally obvious where you should be going based on your level. You'll get quests that are different levels - go to where the lowest level quests send you and as a general rule you'll be in the lowest level areas.Am I just missing these, or do they not exist? Do you mean the starter islands of other factions as a vet? Because your own starter island XP will be completely unnoticeable by the time you reach vet ranks.Sithisvoid wrote: »IMO starter islands are a complete waste of time. Advisable to run the prison & starter islands for leveling purposes. Good step in getting ahead. Players can be 2-3 levels higher than the quests area's in their first zone. Also a big help at the end of the game as it means less grindng to get to VR14 (VR16 now).

In that case... You need 26k XP to reach level 8, which is roughly what you end up at after the starter islands. It gives you a nice boost at the start, but is negligible later on. It doesn't really help with reaching v16 faster.Do you mean the starter islands of other factions as a vet? Talking about when starting out, when either new to the game or making an alt, level 1-49. My last two alts maintained being at least 2-3 levels above the zone by the time they were completed for both 1-49 & vet levels. Granted a bit of grinding might be needed too.
