500-600g per piece of ruby-whatever material? 50k+ per Xivkyn motif chapter, even when they're more common than Dwemer chapters? 1 million+ for the whole Xivkyn book, when it's about 10x more common than the Imperial book? Don't even get me started on the Glass motifs.

How long does it take for common sense to overcome the hype of new content?

Think how long it took to settle after psijiic ambrosia....
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Yes. Honestly, I think it's crazy. It will settle down. Perhaps when Orsinium is able to be explored. We will see.

People have the gold and they're spending it.

I wouldn't expect prices to drop until the optimisers have all their mains and 7alts in the latest in v16 fashion.

Supply and demand, it will settle as enough items hit the market that people are unwilling to buy at current rates - in the meantime if you want good gear it will cost, if you aren't in a rush to gear up then make some money.

To be honest given that TV stones and access to IC are both acting as bottlenecks then the top tier mats are unlikely to ever be as cheap as the void stuff unless Orsinium brings harvestable nodes of these mats and rubedo scraps dropping from monsters.

This is the same with all games, it normally takes a month for prices to reach an okay level then a couple of months for them to bottom out.

first couple of days the price was 150-200k for glass fragments, price actually dropped faster than psjic frags which seemed to stay consistent for about a week or 2.

It will settle down once the next dlc comes out and that will be more friendly to pvers and crafters so will have a larger supply

'Optimisers' I like that. Much nicer than some other terms.

I don't think it's going to settle down anytime soon. Due to the fact that Imperial city is a high risk PVP zone, these new materials will remain rare and remain in high demand. You will never be able to farm these materials in bulk while chasing butterflies and sipping your morning cup of coffee like you can in Craiglorn or anywhere else in the game.

I do expect it to settle some, but these materials will never be nearly as easy or convenient to farm as any other material in the game, therefore the supply will always be considerably lower than the demand. At least until they become available in a player versus environment zone.
