With the nerfs to most builds im considering making an alt of that too...

NBs have the mad damage and a great battle control (stealth)

Im seeing a ton of NB even w/o the update yet

But Nightblade is not the new meta.

PvE trains running up and down the sewers, that's the new PvP meta. Give in and join if you like(trophy's and stones for days).

ganking is popular no doubt... It seems like the alternative to having a decent group to siege with. If the leaders suck, and the groups continually fail, go to PLAN B (ie. ganking instead). Smaller ganking groups benefit from increased AP gains.

You don't have to be a NB to gank.

Play whatever is fun for you. I think people believe that a magicka NB is the penultimate now, which is not true. I actually like a NB healer, but that's just me.

I thought the meta was WB, WB, WB? or maybe BITING JABS? ;)

I switch between my Magicka NB, Stam DK, and my Sorc.

All classes are fun. I'm going to get my templar up soon as I get my sorc to v16.

TBH I am having more fun on my sorc than ever before...

All of a sudden with the narrow areas and close quarters combat its not all about bolt escape.... Encase (With the snare) and mines are virtually an 'i-win' button against most people :)

Though a bolt or two doesn't hurt! :D

And to be fair.... if you use mines a lot then seeing NB's jumping into them is hilarious (Remember... all skills... even OP ones... have counters! :D

I would never recommend playing a class just because everyone else is. Frankly, that is the worst possible recipe for enjoying the game and solving your ganking problem.

Play the class you enjoy most. The more people enjoy their class of choice, the better they tend to play them. When they hit a road block, the best of the best persevere by finding a way to deal with the problem. Sometimes that means changing skills, sometimes attributes, sometimes tactics/rotations, and sometimes it means never PVPing without a couple of friends/guildmates.

I started out with a Templar because I wanted to main a healer. I hit veteran levels and burnt out on the playstyle. I struggled with skills and a lot of what I was hearing was to spam Breath of Life. I didn't want a class that was essentially a 1 hit wonder. So I recently started a NB healer. So far I'm loving every minute of it. It has the DPS, heals and aesthetics I love. But just to make sure that its not a factor of playing a class so much that I just don't want to play it anymore, I've made a sorcerer and a dragonknight to toy around with to keep things in perspective.

So take a look at your class, do some research and find out if there is anything you can do on the class you enjoy that could alleviate the problem. If you're struggling with it, maybe shelf the character for a bit and play something else. A few days or a week of playing a different character may make coming back to your main feel that much better. Or maybe you'll enjoy the other class so much that you'll have found yourself a new main.

I thought the meta was WB, WB, WB? or maybe BITING JABS? ;)

I have heard all sorts of claims since IC patch hit PC/Mac. Unfortunately, I think it is a matter of debate at the moment until someone posts some hard numbers and the theorycrafters/testers have time to run through the various new builds that will result from both active and passive skills changing. We will probably know in a few weeks or months what the new meta truly is. And I agree with you that I don't think magicka NB is going to be it. I think the initial release of patch notes combined with the MASSIVE amount of whining and complaining about NBs in general got a lot of people thinking that magicka NB was going to be the hands down ruler of IC. But from what I can tell, it's looking like stamina DKs and sorcs may be the top dogs for group PVP and solo PVP respectively. It's really hard to judge because I think this patch did a lot of balancing.

NB is not the meta. Lots of people are rolling NB assuming it is the new meta, but that hasn't really shown itself to be true as things are. Sorcs are still super powerful in IC, and I am also doing really well with my templar, even better than with my NB.

    You're a little slow.
People have been making NBs for months, more will follow now.
Get in while the goings good and getting better!
    It's a win win situation.
Hopefully once we all make NBs ZoS may actually pay attention to some of the issues with their skills.

If you don't have one, totally. They're a lot of a fun, and the best way to kill a Nightblade is with another Nightblade, so it's a great time to make one.

Already having a V16 Imperial Nightblade from start, I realized soon (far before patch 1.7) that stamina isn't my favorite playstyle, I play the Imp NB as magicka NB since months and therefore (out of mix/max reasons) I will soon level a Breton magicka Nightblade (see my signature). Especially when I have a look on PvE at moment, new gold pledge difficulty and melee unfriendliness of boss encounters, a Magicka NB with decent damage, healing support and superior movement speed buffs to avoid damage and red circles is just win/win in PvE.

For "PvP" I use my NB just for having my peace while exploring sewers and IC. I guess alone that explains the masses of NB in IC right now. Sewers and IC are zones for which Nightblades are born for. Be it for PvP or for someone who just wants to do his quests and farm some stuff, but dislikes PvP in general (like me)....but if you run into me, I have to defend myself :-)

i'm running around as a DW stam sorc. and i'm doing fine. ok i cant take on the "pro" practiced meta users (aka, shield stackers, burst nb's, etc) cookie cutters but other than that i'm doing wonderful in IC, i can sustain, healmyself and even hit hard.
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

It a funny how things are like this in a video game. People take this way too seriously lol and honestly I couldn't care less about the patches and the meta. I've played every class and my favorite is nightblade due to the speed. I'm gonna keep leveling my stamina nb and idc what people think about it being strong or whatever because that playstyle suits me fine and as long as I'm having fun I don't rly worry about the other things.People go so hard to be the best and to be Iike everyone else and honestly I just laugh because this game won't last forever and some people will have spent their whole eso journey just trying to be like someone else

I'm impressed, yet so sad to read this, as stamina NB Imp is my thing, as is Pve, and I'm dreading the IC drop onto console as quite detrimental to my already glass cannon.
I'm a quester & farmer, finding no enjoyment in killing (or being killed by) other players.
And I do so love taking on bosses, even if I have to heavy & 2H to survive them.

I only started playing ESO on console release and I chose Magicka NB vampire because I like the playstyle and now I feel like I'm getting jeered for choosing the new poster child class for the IC update lol.

EDIT: Strange caus you mentioned magicka NB specifically and I rarely see another magblade on PS4 EU. However I do see stamina NB's EVERYWHERE. When the kill enemy NB's bounty comes up I know I'l always have it done quickly xD

I was a Nightblade since launch of the Xbox One version. Now, I am a Templar.

I went Nightblade because I like being the Ninja/Thief/Assassin type, but I feel like I'm no longer exclusive. When you do a dungeon and EVERYONE is a Nightblade with Dual Wield while you have to pull out your Restoration Staff is meh!

Since I was healing a lot on Nightblade, I deleted her and created a Templar.
