Only Level 17 - Buy Imperial City?

I've only had the game a week or so, as such I've only levelled up to level 17 so far.

Is there any point in buying the Imperial City DLC yet, or should I wait until I'm in the veteran levels? I know it's technically possible to enter at low level, but would it be pointless as I'd spend 90% of the time dying.

Thoughts? Waste of money until high level?

IMHO, I would wait a bit before buying it. Level up, get through the main quest at least and all the zones. You can still do Cyrodiil if you are wanting some PVP action. If you are still into the game after that, then go ahead and buy. You never know, by that time it may go down in price *fingers crossed*.

I have been playing several months now. I don't see myself leaving any time soon but the DLC is a little pricey. And the next DLC is due out in a couple of months which is for PVE. IC is mostly PVP so you want to also make sure you know exactly what you want to focus on in the game; PVE, PVP or both.

I forgot to add that when i was a level 20, I tried Cyro to see what it was like. I got a few kills and I died a lot but i still had fun. They did a good job battle leveling low level characters. So don't worry about dying all the time. You learn what to avoid.

If getting steamrolled in PvP is a concern, roll with a group. There is survival in numbers. Join a guild or find a group of players in the same Alliance and ask for a group invite via area chat (text chat assuming your on PC).

If PvP is more of an afterthought for you and you don't care for it, I wouldn't bother getting IC right away. As @MakeUcrazY said, Orsinium will be released sometime by the end of the year, if not sooner, which will be the new PvE solo/group content.

Back to PvP, leveling an alt with the intention of being my new main, I bring him into Cyrodil with my guild all the time. I don't die any more or any less than I did on my VR14 DK. I can take on enemy players with near equal power. It's really all about knowing your class, how/when to best use them to your advantage and how to counter other classes and other skills.
