Thought I'd try a new Sorc character, never played as one before. I was minding my own business, didn't even have my staff out, whilst someone behind me was being attacked by guards. My STUPID familiar joined in so I got a bounty! Is this a frequent thing for Sorcs?!

I think if you turn off the option to allow attacks on npc characters it will fix the issue.

There were times when fighting a zombie near the Lion Guard camp that my AOE hit a friendly NPC , he began attacking me and I had to kill him or die. He quit fighting the zombie with me and attacked me. So it can happen to not just sorcs, but damn, you weren't even in combat. Maybe untoggle your pets in town.

Yeah, about that. I was attempting to lockpick a Master Lockbox and the merchant caught me with hands in the cookie jar. No big problem, right? Well, it wasn't a problem until my naughty pet decided to attack and murder the NPC in question. Petty theft quickly escalated to murder. Yay!

The option to hurt NPCs was off already :disappointed: Yeah, I was speaking to a merchant as it happened. That needs to be looked at. I don't know how (or even 'if') they can fix it but I lost gold and died for no reason.

I hope you gave your pet a telling off for that one! :anguished:

Interesting. I haven't used pets on my sorc since my leveling days but I would Think they should respond to the same settings as the caster. It's either a bug or an oversight.
@ZOS_GinaBruno is this supposed to happen?

Well.... it's either a bug or a feature.

I'm a RP'er, and so I have an extended "family" of characters - many of whom are sorcs, and the particular winged twilight that most of them summon I call "Roo".

Roo loves a good fight and is easily bored. She has been known to literally wander down a darn hall to pick a fight with NPC's who otherwise would totally not have noticed us. When I'm wanting to minimize this - I tend to unsummon her unless and until there is battle.

On the other hand she is FANTASTIC about taunting bad guys and has saved many a party member's hash by so doing.

She is a very mixed blessing and lots of fun for an RP group.

All that being said - I would not advise summoning pets in the city.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Perhaps this is intended behavior, as an incentive for people to de-summon their pets in cities... And especially in banks...

Please tell me that some of them also summon either a familiar or a clannfear named "Kanga" :D

I did not. As my pet's Master, I am ultimately responsible for his actions. I clearly should have trained him better.

Ahhh ... no. Although that's a cute idea.

Roo is associated with an altmer family.

The clanfear that they usually call is Taa, and there is another winged twilight (associated with an Orc clan) named "Sparkle" (those members of the clan more highly educated know this is actually a shorthand for a daedric phrase that translates to "the gleam of my enemies blood on my weapon" but most of them are just slightly embarrassed at having to refer to their mighty daedric familiar as Sparkle).

Still haven't figured out the name of the summoned Atronach.

Last but not least, there is Van, summoned by my Dunmer - who usually manifests as a Winged twilight - and oddly is very different (calmer and less aggressive) than Roo. Even party members have noted that Van doesn't seem to pick fights the way Roo does.

Errr... probably a LOT more info than anyone wanted....
