I have been wondering for a while now but can vampires in TES actually eat and drink without getting sick or anything like that? I always thought the system in the other games was weird as you can use food items and drinks without any issues. I just want to know if this was due to mechanics or lore.

    I'm not a lore expert, but from what I've read ingame and around the web I've gotten the impression that they can eat and drink. But they must feed on blood to maintain their "normal" appearance.

    Or maybe I'm reading too much into the lorebook "Surfeit of Thieves".

    Uuuhhh yea ? I have no idea what lore you are reading saying how Vampires can't eat or drink anything but blood

    As far as it seems, yes then can. However it does nothing for them and there is no evidence to suggest
    they digest food, but consumption is very easy.
