Werewolf gives Stam Regen without the fire damage draw back, never need to even transform. It's generally the better pick for Stam NB.

In pts(update 1.7) this feature of the Werewolf is removed. You will have to slot the Werewolf Ultimate to get the stamina regeneration passive.

Vampire is actually a very good pick for Stamina Nightblade's. You get the sneak speed passive and take reduced damage once below 50% hp. However Vampire will also require you to also slot a vampire ability to gain it's own magicka/stamina recovery passive. However that is very easy to do with Bat Swarm and Mist Form.

You must also take into account that you will be easy picking's for any nightblade running camouflage hunter or dawnbreaker. It's still very easy to gank someone and return to stealth as a stamina nightblade though. So essentially gank quickly or be ganked in return.

I've been experimenting with this on my stamina nightblade. It can be pretty badass for PVE. I jump into a mob and pop the bats and then spam steel tornado. I'm still trying to decide on what crafting sets I want to use. Vampire's kiss helps with the health regen, but I'm doing noticeably less damage without the hunding's rage that I normally use. I also still haven't completely decided if I want to go more weapon damage or crit chance.

I'm a khajiit stam NB vamp on PS4. Ultimately did vampire for the sneak speed as I did not want to be tied to the Night's Silence set once I can craft Hunding's Rage. I still second guess it but have yet to be pissed enough to get rid of it.

The stam/mag regen is nice. The only drawback is I find myself using jewelry enchants on Fire Resist, and Champion Points on elemental defender. If you go non vamp you can use these slots for regen or weapon damage if you want, so I am torn on if it is really worth it for that purpose alone.

The downsides... Fire hurts bad. It makes dungeon runs with fire enemies pretty challenging, especially bosses with heavy hitting fire attacks. And then once you get hit hard it is not easy to recover the health due to the 75% reduced health regen. Also if someone hits you with Dawnbreaker or even worse Dawn Breaker of Smiting in PVP you pretty much disintegrate on impact

Bat Swarm is a great ultimate. I use it when Im grinding mobs at it just melts enemies. Its also good in PVP, but just be careful when you use it because its a "Please Dawnbreaker my face off" advertisement for the enemy.

The other abilities seem to be more suited for Magicka based players. I cant find much use for elusive mist as a stamina player since the cost is pretty high. I cast it once and the enemies just wait 4 seconds to kill me when it drops. Would work better with a magicka NB since you could use it more, or use it then use Hardened Ward for a pretty slick defensive move.

I dislike all these things, but then LOVE to sneak and use Double Take to cruise around the battlefield in PVP without breaking stealth. In my opinion, this is extremely valuable and it allows me to get into position to gank or elude a group of players quickly.

All in all I think it is pretty balanced. It has some great upsides, but some brutal downsides. If sneak speed is not a huge deal to you and/or you are cool with keeping Night's Silence I would recommend you stay Non-Vamp. Also if you like to get up and in big battles you may want to steer clear because it does make you squishier.

If you are a more stealthy player and sneak speed is a "must have" for you and you want the freedom to use whatever armor sets you want, then it may be worth it. Just be prepared because the downsides are significant enough that it makes you adjust your playstyle.

When IC hits PS4 next week, fire won't be as much of an issue. Not sure what else they might change along with that. I don't PVP, so I'm not afraid to pop the bats as much as I can. My only real issue so far is the health regen. It's a tricky balance between investing in health regen and weapon damage.

    It's good.

Depending on what level you are Vampire hurts, a lot. For PVP it hurts less but in PVE where every other mob has a fire Mage or some other fire creating monstrosity it gets painful. Running dungeons or undaunted quests you will die a lot.

You can mitigate some of the damage by being a dark elf (resist fire racial passive), enchanting your jewelry with resist fire enchants, stacking champion points into elemental defender or hardy (the good news is this constellation has some of the best passives so your going to want to do this anyway, foregoing a straight DPS set like Hundings Rage for something like Vampires Kiss/shrouded armor or even 5 hundings (2weapons DW it sword and shield) 4 Tourg Pact for health and spell resist. You can keep the health when you switch bars but will loose spell resist.

Also if your below veteran rank or early veteran rank invest two skill points into the light armor magics shield annulment morphed into harness magica. Almost all fire based damage in magica damage so it helps a lot.

The long and the short PVE for vampire is painful right up till around 300 champion points at around 100 points in hardy and resist element it's not near as bad.

What I've learned; if your not going to PVP quite a bit leave the vampire bite alone, without the benefit of a good group tank and healer wise the vampire disease is going to be huge pain in the ass and source of frustration and heafty repair bills.

Also, if your more PVE take the swarm of bats that heals you over the invis bats for someungodly reason NPC's can see and follow you when your invisible or when you you teleport half a mile to your archer shadow they turn around and run right to you, stupid

Don't forget that Fighter's Guild has a passive that opens those damage bonuses against werewolves as well. Either way you should fear the Fighter's Guild.

If you're raw stamina DPS I would recommend werewolf as that's all they truly do. Vampires are more diverse in their benefits and would be better for you in a stealth role, so it really comes down to stealth or non.
