Returning player, but switching from PC to ps4 - Question

Hey guys,

I played ESO when it first came out and loved it! However my computer crapped out on me. I'm thinking of making the switch to PS4 so I can play again... My questions are:

I had the imperial edition, will this transfer too? I never made an imperial but I might later.
Are there a lot of people playing this game on ps4? I'm not looking for numbers, just a general lack of players or populated towns. I really don't want to join a ghost town, I really enjoyed the pvp.

Thank you!

You can't transfer between PC and PS4 any more. This was a one-time deal.

I guess I am still curious on is there a lot of people constantly playing this game on PS4? Just in case I pick it up on sale in the near future.

Mournhold, where I do all my bits, has 40 people in proximity chat most nights on PS4.

Out in the wild you are always bumping in to the odd few. Azura star is always full on PS4. The other servers are up and down in pop in PvP.
This post will not take you an unusually long time to read.

I made the move from PC to PS4 and I'm glad I did. I've met a lot of cool players on there.

I'd like to make the move in the opposite direction PS4 to PC but wont start over again.

Console version is just missing too many basic features.

Is the ps4 community pretty steady? I don't want to get the game just to have it die off in a few months.

40 people in proximity chat, is this pretty constant or only in certain areas like cyrodill ?

Thanks again guys, forums seem popping.

To add, in ps4 is it easy to find a group for dungeons and instances?

Console version only has the basic features. That seems to be the problem.

You cant transfer characters anymore. There are a decent amount of people playing but its difficult getting a group together. Communication is limited to proximity voice chat. And guild chat.

I suggest not switching over, but if you really like the game and feel like playing solo most of the time, then get the game. But if you are wanting to experience this mmo as a.... mmo, you wont.

Not sure how similar PS4 and Xbox One are in terms of player base, however I can say that there are always plenty of people around on Xbox One, even out in the wild. Might want to go AD as it seems that there are more people there.

You need to be aware that there is no text chat on console like on PC. Looking for a group to play with can be real interesting. So your grouping options are :

    Group tool-
The group tool is pretty much a broken POS. The wait is anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours, and sometimes indefinitely. When you do get in a group of might not be full so then the everyone will leaves and the wait starts over. People abuse it by queuing for the wrong class. Basically very few people use it now because of its problems.

    Guilds-
If you choose your guilds wisely you can hopefully get into a couple good PVE guilds. Then you have to check all 5 chat channels to see if anyone is on. If you find anyone you can beg them to help you but most likely they have taken steps to mute the channel because no one wants to hear some other dudes music, kids, or mom yelling at them.

    Area chat-
This is a real commical feature. Great idea in a perfect world but total garbage with the morons that can't figure out how to mute their cheap mics. Here is what you can expect.

Here are 3 videos I recorded in one day, all 3 times I was just coming into town to do some crafting stuff.

I recorded these on my phone so the camera angles arent the best, but the audio is clear.

Bottom line, make sure you know some people before buying this for console or its going to be lonely. Even more lonely in the next few months as new games come out, more people jump ship because they cant experience the game due to lack of propper grouping tools (like text chat), and even the guilds become empty.

The game's central concept of "PvP in PvP areas and be safe in safe areas" needs to stay the way it is.

I broke out with an evil grin on that question. No sir, you will pull your hair out trying to find a group with the current communication setup. Just so you know there is no text chat on console at this time so you have to cross your fingers and ask in voice chat in some of the larger cities. Good luck talking over everyone though

Ok console sounds gross... I'll wait until I get my new CPU and not spend money. Thanks for all the help!

Is it still easy to find dungeon groups on CPU?
