Lag. Will it plague us for eternity? I'd like to imagine that there won't be a thing called lag in at least..... 30 years, what do you think?

There actually is hardly and lag since the launch of IC, at least for me and most people i talked to. OF course that is not cause anything got fixed from the technical side, but instead everyone is piling into IC. In IC, while farm trains are quite common. these hardly clash with each other -> very little lag. And we dont have zergs of 48+ running over the screen, since even those monkeys realize that the can hardly earn stones that way.

I know what you mean, but I'm more on about lag in general, like.. on anything. Even loading screens tbh... I remember when PS4 was announced, they were talking about loading screens being non-existent  little trolls.

I'd rather have long loading screens and no lag

There is less lag because people are more split between campaign AND Cyrodiil is a deadzone atm lol.

Its not fixed, just no zergs in Cyrodiil atm. And if Zergs run around in IC then you have lag, believe me

After today's patch LAG is back big time - I just quit playing as it became unplayable. Ping of 108, FPS of 53, cant move on screen because of it, and Im dying from bosses that haven't even been drawn on screen! And its everywhere not just in Cyrodiil / IC.

ZOS really need to hot fix this today, not tomorrow or worse soon(TM)

There are a lot of good games coming out soon and these issues will drive players to leave.

I think once the majority of the world switches to fiber optic we will see far less. I',m still waiting on my area to get it together.

You have a ping of 108 and have lag?!? You have fps of 53 yet nothing is drawn on screen?!?I call the bs flag on that.

There will always be lag. Connections will improve between client and server, but so will the amount of data people are trying to send over those connections. There will always be loading screens. If technology improves to load more data faster, people will just try to load more data. These are modern equivalents to "programs always expand to fill the available memory".

I had crazy lag in IC untill I switched from WiFi to wire.

Mind you I have run of the mill ISP given router.
ESO uses a LOT of small packages in PVP.
WiFi just couldn't handle number of small packages coming and going.

Smacked in a LAN cable - all my lag problems gone.

Im not saying it will magically help everyone, but it is worth a try.
Wife is complaining because of "mess in living room" ( one wire that I put away after ESO session ). But thats a small price to pay.

All in all - try it. It might help.

Or cry on forums yelling - OMG NOOB, YOU KNOW NOTHING, MY WIFI I AWSUME !!!!111

    Your choice.

Unless they pull some Mass Effect level technology with quantum entanglement computing driven by A.I. there will always and forever be lag. Damm you speed of light and space/time continuum *shakes nerd pocket protector*!

Imagine an AI so advanced it knows what moves your character will make based on previous play time and renders game play as if you were driving the actions. There may be lag in the beginning but once the AI gets a lock on your behavior it can pretty much become "you" and play your character with the real you completely unaware of it happening. It can do this milliseconds ahead of your perception so that you think you are moving your character forward but it's the AI controlling it and instantly updating the server AI via non-local information transfer (quantum entanglement) bypassing speed of light restrictions. In other words, no lag
