Is Biting jab not been interruptible intended?

As title says (sry for my English) a friend and i were fighting a few templars this last couple of days, and ofc, the new meta is spam biting jabs till the night falls. Though i personally dont really have a problem against biting jabs spaming templars (though i think this is getting a little bit out of control since they only use BoL and biting jabs and they actually are really effective using 0 skill... but well), my friend was getting wrecked (magicka NB with a balanced build), so i told him "just bash them and burst them down"... he told me he tried and didnt work, so i went and tried my self... yeap it doesnt work anymore.

I tried against the magicka morph, the stamina morph, against an enemy without cc immunity and with cc immunity on and it does not work in any case.

I didnt tried skills like Crushing Shock to check if that worked.

So i wanted to ask if this is actually an intended change?

I think the stamina templars dont really need more perks, even less for just spaming 1 single skill all day long, my main was a magicka Templar till 1.6 and i see this new meta really lame, borring that requieres no skill. Magicka balanced templars imo needs love, but i dont think bursting stamina templars to improve magicka ones is a good idea making biting jabs uninterruptable (If its actually a design choice ofc).

Makes sense to me. It makes jabs/sweep competitive against Wrecking Blow.

Melee skills with cast time can't be interrupted. Which is good in my opinion, otherwise you couldn't really use them against players that aren't completely bad.

Things like wrecking blow will still knock a Templar using jabs/sweep on their rear, and while the Templar is in the middle of using jabs/sweep he can't even block (although he can dodge-roll away).

wait, what is this in the new patch? I can block with jabs when I see a dangerous attack coming but It does cancel the rest of the jabs (mostly) .

It can be interrupted by NPC's. Happens all the time to me so I'd assume in PvP the same can occur

I don't use it in PvP as I heal but it'd be odd if it's not interruptible in PvP

Jabs is a channel ability, not a cast time ability.

Crystal frags is cast time, so it can be interrupted.

While channeling an ability you are open to cc from skills, but cannot be "interrupted"

Exception to this rule is Uppercut

Not quite right I don't think, since RD is a channel and can be interrupted with bash/Venom Aroow etc...

It seems to be specifically melee (8m or less?), cast time or channels that are immune to interrupt. Wrecking Blow is a cast-time, not a channel, and Puncturing Sweeps is a channel not a cast time and yet both are uninterruptible with bash/other interrupts. Like you say though, stuns etc.. are still fair game.

TL;DR
To be uninterruptible skill needs to be:
1. Rated as melee (8m or less)
2. Cast time or channel

I can't. I wish I could cancel the rest of them to block, but any time I try it doesn't do anything, no matter how much stamina I have left.

@UrQuan what platform are you on PC? I am on PS4 and we didn't get the new IC patch yet perhaps that could be the reason?

Thats not the problem, im on PC and i can still block when channeling it.

it seems to be able to block for me too. most of the time it blocks when its on the last hit of the combo. not from the start of the cast

Hello guys, could s.o. please test (channeled) heavy weapon attacks + a channeled skill.
I am asking because, while leveling my resto staff, I noticed that I can use both simultaneously.
In my case it was the vamp channeled skill + resto staff heavy attack.
If this is a bug (in ESO: feature) you can combine channeled weapon attacks + channeled skills ;-)

If you test this, spam channeled weapon attacks (resto or lightning staff staff) and a channeled skill as Jesus beam or vampire drain. Do it similar to animation cancelling of the channeled skill, with medium or heavy weapon attacks. Look if you can reproduce it.

You can block while channelling it, but as mentioned previously.. it does stop the attack.. @UrQuan if you can't block to stop puncturing sweeps.. might be a bug.

Many channeled abilities can be interrupted. Radiant, soul strike, drain essence. But logically jabs shouldn't be interruptable due to being melee range.

See for me when I try to block while using this, one of 2 things happen depending on where I am in the channel:

Trying to block doesn't do anything and I just keeps going with my magic spear
The channel stops and I appear to block, but when I get hit during the block it hits me as if I was trying to block without any stamina (or as if I didn't have enough stamina), even if my stamina bar is full.

In either case, if I'm being hit with something that would normally knock me back or stun me, but can usually be blocked to avoid that effect, I always get knocked back or stunned. I'm not sure if I still get the damage mitigation from blocking when this happens or not.

I block in the middle of Biting Jabs all the time. Also spamming biting jabs is pretty strong but using nothing but biting jabs is dumb, there are so many skills that synergize with biting jabs perfectly like Pierce. Temps need to step they game up.
