This would be a 2.1 change. I have mained a nightblade for all of 1.6/2.0 and have had hundreds of times where my eye was solid closed in stealth (not cloak) and I was attacked, same as me just wrecking other players that from their reactions very obviously had no clue at all that I was seeing them even though they were stealthed (all classes, so also not limited to cloak).Knootewoot wrote: »If you stealth, a detect potion will open your "eye" and you hear a "woosh" sound. If you cloak however you won't. Eye is closed and now sound. But the detect-potter will see you nonetheless.
With enough stealth detection reduction bonuses (like medium armor passives or sets like nightshade 3pc) you could walk into another player without being detected. My guess would be that the guy was near enough to you so he could unstealth you even without pot. Let me guess, in those cases you usually died to a combo with a 20k+ wrecking blow opener?Knootewoot wrote: »Hmm odd. I had many times I was just sneaking through the forest and my eye would go open and close with a whoosh sound. No wolves, deer or torchbugs detected me. Then I was attacked and died by a player. And that was for sure in 1.6. Might have been magelight or the passive from a race then. I always thought it to be detect potions.
