Defining Incompetence

Every day i put up with these same unacceptable issues.

- Doors. Being put back to where you open them or simply not working at all.

- Cold Harbor siege - STILL invisible. Still misspelled. Also unable to identify incoming ally from enemy siege..

- Unable to mount my horse. Made even worse apparently by healing - which underpowers templars even further. I paid for an imperial horse yet i cant use it 90% of the time...

- Endless game crashes. 40 minutes yesterday i spent nearly 30 waiting for eso to reopen or on a loading screen.

- Loading screens appearing in the middle of pvp. Utterly unacceptable.

- Infinite loading screens.

- Instant deaths from bow attacks. Full health to dead without any chance to react.

- Numerous bugs. e.g Fall damage exploits, even when not falling.

- No chat box in an mmo? Seriously?

- No CP indicator on name tags. Why is only VR shown when CP is clearly more important?

- Class imbalance. Ever tried playing a templar? Clearly not. Current top 100 campaign leaderboards have 19 templars vs 37 nightblades - 4 of the top 5 are nightblades. Emperor class imbalance is even worse.

...

From a game thats been in the making for almost a decade, was then delayed over a year for console release & has now been out for over 3 months, this is just laughable. And frankly i'm offended at what zos expect their customers to put up with.

Now, why not fix your game before churning out more bug-ridden content.

Wow I can't imagine why devs don't visit this forum.

    Please continue.

These issues are obviously important to you.

Also unable to identify incoming ally from enemy siege..

That as probably part of ZOS's standardization effort. Not only you can not discern incoming enemy fire from friendly (uh), but now, after The Alliance Indicator Nerf, you can not longer discern incoming enemies from friends until you are practically within firing distance either.
No CP indicator on name tags. Why is only VR shown when CP is clearly more important?

Because de facto invisible levels like CPs are by virtue of being invisible hard to see for the devs.

Every day i put up with these same unacceptable issues.

    Don't we all...
    - Doors. Being put back to where you open them or simply not working at all.

The former usually occurs if you move too far away from the door while opening it which isn't really a bug lol as for the latter I've only experienced this maybe once, twice tops in total but many others experience it a lot too.
    - Cold Harbor siege - STILL invisible. Still misspelled. Also unable to identify incoming ally from enemy siege..

I addressed this in a past live and kept pushing on it until I got a response. They stated this is indeed a bug and will be fixed eventually. All we can do is wait...
    - Unable to mount my horse. Made even worse apparently by healing - which underpowers templars even further. I paid for an imperial horse yet i cant use it 90% of the time...

If you're referring to the combat indicator this is only really an issue in Cyrodiil and everyone knows this. It could indeed use some fixing but eh.
    - Endless game crashes. 40 minutes yesterday i spent nearly 30 waiting for eso to reopen or on a loading screen.

Yes the crashes have indeed gotten worse since the outage. I have reported this myself but it isn't getting much feedback at all.
    - Loading screens appearing in the middle of pvp. Utterly unacceptable.

If this is regarding the glitch where you fall through the floor then yes this could use a fixing in general.
    - Infinite loading screens.

I don't really have an issue with loading screens most of the time but the loading latency after logging in is definitely an issue.
    - Instant deaths from bow attacks. Full health to dead without any chance to react.

Yes a common complaint regarding Snipe. But that is what "Sniping" is all about you know. Just take note of where you got Sniped and exercise caution in that area.
    - Numerous bugs. e.g Fall damage exploits, even when not falling.

If this is about Silver Leash that is being fixed.
    - No chat box in an mmo? Seriously?

Just give it up. If Zenimax intended to implement this which they said before it even released to consoles that they did not plan to they would've spoken up by now. Or you could ask about this in a live session and get their official response the way I did about Cold Siege Weapons.
    - No CP indicator on name tags. Why is only VR shown when CP is clearly more important?

By that logic they would also have to show all the passives you have invested in because they are basically the backbone of a player's capabilities.
    - Class imbalance. Ever tried playing a templar? Clearly not. Current top 100 campaign leaderboards have 19 templars vs 37 nightblades - 4 of the top 5 are nightblades. Emperor class imbalance is even worse.

There is no class imbalance, just people crying because what they are using isn't working for them when it works for others or they see someone doing what they could not quite well. Seriously, get over it.

This i agree with, yet its not something that brings me any pleasure in doing so... i plan on playing the game for months to come. Will continue to post the issues that i expected the game to be launched without.

    ...

    Gamplay:

    - Continually having to re-sprint whilst on mount, over even the smallest of depressions (made even worse at higher speed).

    - Having to travel twice to get to an outpost, rather than just spawning there (wayshrines dont always work & i can only assume the increased traffic only excaserbates the problem).

    - Inability to travel to/from outposts means you have to resort to killing yourself to regroup after traveling to an outpost.

    - Inability to travel to keeps that arent 'linked' via other keeps, yet you can spawn there after death. Forced dearths achieve nothing & make the options to travel (or not) via certain keeps irreleveant. Also makes certain tactical keep captures irrelevant if you can simply spawn at any keep that isnt currently under siege (who was in charge of this decision - bsg, you know who to fire)

    - More mindless dev decisions posted tomorrow - And every day of the week.

    - Having to enlarge to the map with LT (Xbox one) for 5 seconds to see the entire map every time we want to see whats going on in Cyrodiil

    - Having to enlarge to map for even longer upon using a wayshrine to exit Cyrodiil (Surely if we use this shrine it should start at the over-view of tamriel, since its clearly not being used to travel inside of PVP... Seriously..)

ive been saying this since the beginning of my time playing this since it came out for xbone.

Dont forget the little things that add up too....

like when you go to search for something to buy on the traders (lets say provisioning recipes)....and you hover over "recipes"....only for the entire menu to disappear. Yes...you can usually fix it by exiting out, or searching for something else and going back...and even that takes 6 or 7 tries here and there. It is utterly infuriating that something SO BASIC in an MMO PLAYED IN 2015 has crap like this.

How about not being able to tell what you sold from your in game mail? "Hey! Heres $10,000 you noble salesman! What did you sell you ask? [snip] if I know...go ask your guild trader, im just the mailman."

Items not stacking in the guild bank properly. (this may have been fixed on pc this patch, any confirmation?)

Porting through keep doors in Cyrodiil....sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds...which we all know is usually a death sentence if there are enough enemies plinking away at your back.

The map randomly jutting to some random spot somewhere you didnt want it to go, for absolutely no reason.

God forbid you actually want a game to work properly though...b/c the Elder Scroll fanboys come out in droves and tell you to go play something else and to "deal with it."

This is why they dont fix it, bc 95% of you dont give a [snip].

    Exactly.

    - Hours rearranging guild banks to make items stack.

    - 1000's (literally) of deaths from bugs (dozens daily)

    - no patch in 3 months, 1 year + for massively expressed bugs.

Yeah it would be nice if ZOS took a little ownership on some things. It isn't that hard to slide a few spelling corrections in a weekly patch is it?

I would like to be a fly on the way at the next Shareholder meeting though. I mean the one "After" the "We sold yadayada console copies" meeting..You know the one that basically tells the true story of the long term vision of the game.

I wonder what would happen if a few player petitions hit the projector screen on the back wall :)

Player retention is massively worse than expected - even more so than free mmo's which profit from the obvious P2W transactions.

Employees are rapidly becoming redundant - same with any hardware (expect increasing lag).

Future content will be pushed out ahead of previous goals, bug fixes or any other non-lucrative endeavors will be delayed.

All systems focus on lore-irrelevant CS additions. (i salute you zos, glass armour may yet make reasonable funds compared to what you've lost with your endlessly foolish decisions. Still, unlikely)

    Really?
Employees are rapidly becoming redundant - same with any hardware (expect increasing lag).

Having played dead and dying games, I can say the one issue I never had a problem with was lag. Usually, lag is a result of too many people trying to access the server at once, not too few.
Future content will be pushed out ahead of previous goals, bug fixes or any other non-lucrative endeavors will be delayed.

You sure you're talking about Elder Scrolls Online and not, say a Cryptic or Bioware title?

Because of course, stuff like the Thieves' Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Orsinium are lore-irrelevant.

Will You make some very interesting points. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to count the number or [lack there of] players in the "Past populated" areas. To know that the player numbers are down by a large number. At peak times it is scary to see how many less players are around compared to just a month ago. At first I chalked it up to just the first wave of people that normally leave a game after the "New factor" wears off. But if you honestly take a tour around in the game at least on console it is down right depressing at how many people are simply not playing anymore. I know my friends list that EXPLODED when ESO came out is now pretty much dead.

But when I logged back into NeverWinter I see the game population has actually gotten Larger!! When my personal opinion is that ESO is by far the better game! This leaves me to think that the reason people are leaving ESO sits squarely on the shoulders of the development team! I say this for a number of reasons.

1] Lack of communication from the dev team. Even when they do speak out it is not on The official game forums, but rather on random websites and forums that most of the player base do not even visit or even know about leaving them feel like they do not matter. I know the NW boards are flooded with post from the DEV team and they even openly discuss the future plans for the game with the fans and the players base.

2] Way to many features that all MMO's have and that players are used to are just not in the game for the console players be It text chat/ character names/ Auction house/ Combat information. these are things that MMO players are used to having in front of them and to not at least have them as a toggle on/off option is not excusable for most of todays MMO players.

3] ESO still struggles with not knowing what it wants to be.. Is it a single player game or is it a group friendly MMO?

4] The elephant in the room for most people that can get past the first 3 in this list is the CP system.. This is the first game in history that basically slams the door in the face of anyone that intends to start fresh 10 months after release. The CP system while it does reward players for playing the game and does give them an advantage. It insures that no new blood will ever want to join the community if the player will never be on a competitive level with the other players.

5] The PC transfers were never a good thing. Some people that play MMO's for the economy and the joy of trading and crafting to sell/trade ESO is just not new player friendly at all. With the limits on guild members and the monopoly that the transferring players have built over the economy has driven more than a few from ESO's doorstep.

I wish ZOS would slow down and understand that these things are important to todays MMO players and the people Like myself that love ESO simply wish changes would be made to attract and keep new players and not drive them away..

ESO was the ONLY reason I was going to buy an Xbox One back in June of last year before it was canceled/postponed I was even ready to continue my Sub Fee for the console version

And to see the game in its current state more than gets my feathers ruffled! :'(

Yeah in *Neverwinter* /cough. they offered players double diamonds (Kinda like cash shop currency) when things like server crashes and other "Server/Dev" side of things go wrong!

I am not asking for free crowns, but anything would be better than nothing and just treating problems like they do not exist.
    ^^ Stuff like that go a L0000NG way in repairing/building player/developer relationships.
When developers treat the player base with kindness and surprises it makes the player base more loyal and forgiving when times get rough.... Like they are now..

When the player base is ignored no communication comes to them from the development team they become resentful and lash out at just about every small problem that pops up. [Kinda like we are seeing now] Most players feel like they have been lied to about so many things and that they are not part of a community. At least not like they did in the early days of development of this game. :s
