Yesterday running a dungeon some guy comes up to me and requests to trade. I ask him what he's actually wanting to trade and he had no idea. I closed the trade screen and went on my way and got a mouthful of abuse (was actually funny tbf) for being a spoilt brat.
My point is i suppose, it's helpful if people know what you're actually wanting to trade rather than just hit trade and hope for the best. After all, people aren't mind readers.

I hope you don't think this shows you in a good light , you stole 696k from someone . If I was that person I would have followed you to the ends of oblivion for that kind of money then reported you for the thief you are . Perhaps the person made a genuine mistake in trying to input a figure in the add gold , this is easy done . For you to take advantage of that then run away with his money says a lot more about your character than his . Shame on you .
Don't be daft, scams like this go on all the time - someone briefly drops some money in the box then retracts it while you are adding goods to trade for the now non-existent money that was shown.
Most people who randomly open trade with you uninvited are looking to scam you out of something.
Yeah and two wrongs make a right WRONG what he did was no better than the SCAM you described . Not every random trader is trying to scam you . I try a lot of random trading because having only 30 spaces in a guild store is pathetically low and there is no other way , other than selling to npc dealers for the pathetic pittance they offer you of disposing of goods . So don't try and defend this by saying most people are trying to scam in open trading so it's ok to scam them first . And in answer to your first question - no , I am not daft.

I've done the 'open trade window' more than once by accident when I meant to hit up with a guildie or friend - and just didnt' realize I was targeting the wrong player.
I try to apologize in chat (text; I'm on NA PC), but some folks don't seem to have it enabled.
Oh yeah, I think everyone has done that at one time or another. It's usually obvious when someone did it by mistake, as they'll cancel it right away and not try to initiate it again.newtinmpls wrote: »Prof_Bawbag wrote: »Why do people do it?

I gave a random trade spammer some "Worms" and "Crawlers" I got from Zombie grinding last night. lolI give them a single unit of whatever provisioning materials I happen to have on me at the time, or a fish.

As far as not being able to whisper someone, they probably have themselves set to offline mode. I do this myself when I'm grabbing my hireling mails every day so that I don't annoy people on my friends list with frequent "Ur-Quan has logged off with X" and "Ur-Quan has logged on with Y". I sometimes forget to set myself back to online after I'm done, though, and when I forget nobody can whisper me.
