So I made a Breton Magica NB question about it

If I feel the need to switch to a Stamina NB at Vet 14, will this still be possible without losing any major things because of the Racial I wen't with? Or won't it matter that much?

Magicka NB can bring alot to the table. I've been wanting to give one a shot.

As to your question, Racial choice makes a pretty big difference. You'll be able to push a stamina build out, but don't expect it match numbers you see other people reach. Redguard/Wood Elf are the top choices for it, though Imperial > Khajiit can also be considered.

as a Magicka Nightblade Khajiit I can tell you, play the race you want.

Pros and Cons all races are good.

That being said im a khajiit and I outplay fellow magicka/stamina NB even with them having a better race. (I just build around my race weither magicka or stamina.)

picking a race suitable to your spec-choice is a difference but its neither gamebreaking or makeing.

Why do you want to switch out of curiosity? With the ridiculous stamina issues thanks to the recent update I do fear the racial passives on stam builds will make a big difference, which is why I rolled a new character for my stam nb (I also have a magicka breton nb). When all of your blocking, dodging, skills and heals (rally or vigor) rely on stamina, you really want to max it out as much as possible, so the stam bonus with the races Anlaemar mentioned will surely benefit. I went with Imperial, because they can pretty much work for anything thanks to their passives. Extra health, increased stamina, a chance to restore health just by melee attacks. And if you tire of DPS and want to try tanking, your Imperial will work for that too with higher health reserves and shield affinity.

I honestly don't care about switching, I just like to try new builds after a while. That's why I was wondering if the Racial is gonna be a big change if I ever would concider switching to a Stamina Build.

i think a character respec is fine, unnecessary, but fine. it depends if you want PVP or PVE and min/max end game or passable.

Your extra magicka and reduced cost will help for PvP where you may want to cloak/fear/double take. And what you get from armor passives and food can make up for it. There is a bigger difference between gold and purple gear, and between what potions/food or drinks you use (bi or tri stat), what sets you use, and how many champion points you have etc. Than the racial passives can account for.
eg. if you have 10% magicka on your Breton you can always rock Bi-stat stamina/health food instead of tri stat as you already are buffing magicka. I dont know the difference at VR15 provisioning but its likely >1k more on the bi-stat food than tri stat? Thats like +4% more stamina (@ 25k base stamina) + 5% to health (@20k base HP) so compared to say an orc or kahjitt who have 6% stamina passive, you're not much worse off.

even if you compare it to a redguard with say 10% on his 25k stamina base, its 2,500 stamina, the difference between food is giving you 1,000 more than him if he uses tri stat, the final difference in stamina between you two is 1,500 which is approximately 143 weapon power. Which is likely only 2-3% more damage. Its not such a difference to make him beast mode and you a wet lettuce.

You'll be fine OP. The extra magicka for an extra cloak or two will be nice. The extra resistance is great too. Later on (months down the line after you learn the class) if you decide you want to min/max for whatever reason go ahead and roll a NB with stam racials.

I'm enjoying the heck out of my Breton Magicka NB Vampire. I don't foresee switching him to Stamina based. I am working on a crazy Breton Stam Sorc Werewolf though also and while it's early yet, she's seeming pretty fun as well. One of the good things about this game is, if you're not a dedicated min/maxxer, you can play some challenging and fun "off the beaten path" builds and make them work.

So you reckon it won't such a big difference in either DPS or Tank wise if I ever consider switching?

So you are all right with having an advantage over other races in the magica area hence the reason you picked Breton For the advantage it gives you to magica, but do not want the other races to have an advantage over you if you ever switch to a stamina build?

    WUT?

That wasn't what I men't, it was purely men't if Racial makes a big difference if you wen't with a Magica instead of Stamina based.

Agree with Araxleon here, Im an altmer stamblade and I feel pretty good about it. Would I prefer to be a bosmer? Perhaps, but I dont feel handicapped for having better magicka sustain then my fellow imperial stamblades.

I have 2 (Breton) NBs of which both were first magicka builds and later stamina. Both builds were really fun to play, and both have (or HAD) their qualities.
I regret this step now. After the update and with the NB I'm currently playing I keep dying f.e. at world bosses which I could easily defeat with the other NB before the update. Same build, even at a higher rank now, dead, all the freaking time!! I can either rolldodge a few times, OR I can keep standing in the red and use my stamina based skills, not both anymore. The result is obvious. Maybe it would work with a bow, but I'm using a two-hander as the main weapon with both characters. And I don't want to use a bow in this game again.
If nothing will be done about this stamina issue soon (and not just ™!), I guess I'm out. At least as soon as my current character finishes Reaper's March, and I'm in Malabal Tor already.
My advice: keep your fingers off stamina builds. Especially switching at a higher rank won't be a picnic. At least when you play solo.

Honestly yes racials do make a huge difference unless you have the resources to build armor sets that will offset the stat choices.

If you are just vanilla rolling it then yes switching will leave a few holes until you can remedy the issue with set gear. Even after doing so you are going to never be on par with the people that build the class with a focus. That is the great thing about racial benefits. It keeps people from always swapping to the flavor of the month.

I have never agreed with games letting people reroll at any given time just because they are not the flavor of the month. Personally I think rerolling should be limited to one time every 30 days, but hey MMO players today want everything to be easy.
