You have to choose a new campaign before the previous one ends, and you will switch automatically to the new campaign. There isn't any possibility to have "no campaign", aside from the start with a character.

Yes you just have to go to your alliances wayshrine and use it to teleport to...wherever. you can do that at any time. if you can't get there because of whatever use get me unstuck
