Subscriber No More (No, not because of PVP)

Context: Been a subscriber since launch. Love the Elder Scrolls franchise. Casual player, playing a lot with my son.

Done as a subscriber....few notes for the Zenimax folks.

Lag, crashes, screen loads, etc. - Why would you launch so much at the same time? More variables for issues. It took me 30 minutes to read and consume the patch notes alone. Currently unplayable for me. Why not launch IC now, and then make the other changes next month? Or roll out smaller changes once a month. Something. Also, tired of having to relearn my characters. I do not play 8 hours a day like others, and I cannot just take a build from Deltia and all of a sudden be comfortable with the build.

Finding Dwemer motifs was hard enough, but the Glass approach is crazy. Find all these fragments, then pay 10k to put them together, then get one piece. Seriously. I did a few crafting writs on my max level blacksmith, woodwork and clothing. Pretty much consumed a stack of mats each time. Hell, I am still trying to make the experience booster potion. Spent plenty of time catching and skinning 1000 fish. Ended up with 5 roe. Have 4 max level provisioners, do my writ every day, so far 3 pieces of the recipe.

Given I am not much in to PVP. I am just not that good, and in DC, we do not have a heavy PVP faction. Or we do, and we are not that good. IC does not mean much to me. It's cool. The new stuff is cool, but I feel like I got it as part of my subscription, and I will never play it.

Last, my subscription has no value. The 10% bonuses are meaningless. This all started with my special, never to be seen again Senche Tiger loyalty mount, only to have a Senche leopard in the cash store less than 30 days later. Stripes to spots, that's it. For the $$ I pay for my subscription, I could get more Crowns than I get with the subscription. Given the time suck to get the experience booster and glass motif, I figure I can buy some crowns when I want, if I want, and call it a day. Anyone want to bet we will see a Glass motif for 5,000 crowns ($40) in the store at some point in the future?

$300 a year less for ZOS. Me and my son....he gave up last week and went back to final fantasy online, where the game does not crash all the time.

This was really for my benefit more than anything (venting). I doubt anyone from ZOS will read or care.

It's okay. At least you got to spend quality time with your son. That counts for a lot...Enjoy your game time and have fun.

I don't get it, if you been here when PC went live and you were given the scenche mount with stripes how the heck did you just sign up on the 2nd of this month? I know my account is linked with my forums account so am not getting this at all?

Well the good news is that you can still play the game without a subscription. Maybe someday it will be worth it for you to sub again.

And, although it's just a tiny piece of the whole issue, I have one of these XP recipes in a store going for weeks but it doesn't sell. Do you want it? I mean, for free, of course? I'm on NA/PC, I hope you are, too

*shrug* around 5-10% of the player populations bothers with the forum, usually not until they have something important to them to say. I never bothered with the forum until before 1.6. either, but I've been playing since open Beta.
Signup isn't mandatory.

I agree with pretty much all you said except the first paragraph, long loading screens are to be expected with new content, it'll ease back as people pitter out, for me, the longer the natch potes the happier I am

But yeah, at least you have 3 fragments for the exp pot recipe, I still haven't gotten a single fragment

Perhaps. I guess I would expect them to do better testing, and the constant disconnections...We are a year and a half post launch.

You are very kind. Sell it, you earned it, you should get the gold for it. Besides, I can guarantee you, I am not going to spend any more time fishing for roe....Perhaps if I could us "jabs" on the fishing spot.

A number of my friends list has went back to Never Winter /Cring.... For their "Soon to be winter time MMO"

Kinda sad really as most of the people that left were all adults and fathers like you and I. A few husband and wife players just felt that ESO wasn't what they thought it was going to be.

This stuff makes me sad and mad at the same time. Sad as I know these people some of them personally and they are GREAT members to have in all of the MMO's we have played together over the years. It makes me mad because ZOS had a chance to make MMO history here. The game could/should have been so much better than it is. I mean ESO was going to be my "Winter Time MMO" that I was going to be spending a lot of time playing during the cold months of winter.

We could go on and on with the reasons why people are leaving or canceling subs, but what is the point in it? The numbers are down anyone that takes a stroll through the main gathering areas will tell you that.. I do hope ZOS sees this and makes changes for the better soon-tm

Yeah, I just realized this week that I did not have a forum account.....

Same thing happened to my significant other. They've been here since launch... but didn't have an account until last month sometime.

Not necessarily. I joined the game in beta, and never got around to registering on the site. By the time I cared to my registration code had expired. I got another forum code at early launch, and let that one expire too. Didn't bother to ask suppport for forum access until late last year, but had been playing the whole time.

I do wish there were more choices with Console MMO's and I would bet we will have them in a year from now. Rumor is GW2 is planning a console release in the future, but who knows when that will happen lol.

It is not just "Console Kiddies" that are wanting decent console MMO's these days. More and more of the adult gamers are looking for a great MMO experience from our consoles. Some of us were lucky enough to have owned a PS2 back in glory days of EverQuestOnlineAdventures .. <---That my friends was a CLASSIC!

No! It was a fully functioning MMO just like EQ.. Well like the original.. VOX raids and all.
That thing was running up until like a year ago or so.

Pretty much everything in the OP I am in full agreement with. The game has become a painful hassle to play as of late and it's basically like they WANT people to buy the motifs and what not from the Crown Store by the way they're making motifs and recipes so convoluted to acquire now. I, too, just unsubbed. Just don't feel there's enough there to warrant it anymore. I do hope Zeni is paying attention and gets their act together, because this could be a truly great game if they did.

Of course they do man..
ZOS have decided to walk down that road of BTP/Cash shop.
Having said that.. With cash shops you either get a straight flat P2W system or you get "convenience" Items where it is just more "Convenient" to buy from the cash shop than it is to grind for it.

I mean what do you people want? They HAVE to make MONEY! What do you expect them to put into the cash shop? Some third rate half dressed orphan item with 5 eyes and a bad haircut that nobody will want? NO they are gonigto put items in there that you WANT you do not NEED them but you want them.. When they slide things in there that you NEED then it becomes a P2W and then you will see the sky fall!
