Editing UserSettings.txt on Mac

Hello everyone.

I want to make a few changes in the UserSettings.txt file, like for example the MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS variable with a negative value to improve sharpness. The problem is that the file and variable get reverted every time I edit it with the intended value.

Does someone know how can I make this edit without having ESO revert my changes?

Thank you.

The MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS Hack will not work till we have a 64 bit client

Even then it may not perform well for you.

The Mac client scales down texture to medium mipmap already to save memory.

What you are trying to do is get the client to not skip any high res texture mips
This will result in the game using x2 the memory... bad bad bad...

Got it. Thank you for the input as always!

I just wish we could somehow 'fix' the issue that other characters' texture don't properly display unless we get incredibly close and that trick appears to do it for Windows users. Wish we could have a similar solution on OS X.

Also, since you're at it, please advise concerning other two potential changes that I often find recommended on reddit.

    Setting HIGH_RESOLUTION_SHADOWS from 1 to 0.
Setting GPUSmoothingFrames from 10 to 0.
