✭✭✭✭✭OtherIn my opinion, a nice addition to the mount selection would be some form of flying mount. It doesn't actually have to fly, but at least give the illusion of gliding or hovering. As for the type of animal/creature for this flying mount, I'd say a gryphon would be pretty fine choice. I mean, who doesn't really like gryphons?0 -

Guar are favored mounts of dark elves.
Senche are favored by Khajit.
What do Orcs, High Elves, Bosmer, Argonians favor in their homelands?
Guar are common in Black Marsh, too. Argonians use them for everything - meat, hides, pack animals, mounts.
Nords use horses, too. They just need to use stocky mountain horses that can tolerate the weather and terrain better.
Altmer I think... actually also horses. Probably sleek palominos with dainty hooves, knowing them.
Bosmer? I don't know that they typically use them at all. Normally they travel by treetop, because the trees are supposed to be much closer together - meaning that not only is treetop travel possible, but mounts can't navigate the underbrush.

Horses just don't scream high elf. They might use horses because they're common and cheaper than their favored ancestral mounts. . What did the ancient elves ride on? Unicorns? Wolves? Giant chinchillas? What would a wealthy elf noble ride?

@BullNetch, I made a thread a while back suggesting that each race have "their" type of mount and if that race is riding their race's mount they get a racial/mount buff... anyway. I matched each race with different types of mounts. some of the associations are questionable, I admit... but here's that thread anyway.

Argonians deep in the Black Marsh don't use mounts at all. Travel in the Marsh is so damn near impossible that every village needs to be self-sufficient. If they DO travel, they either do it on foot, or they trick giant underground wurms into eating them, and cut their way out once they reach a destination. So I would still say guar, because the ones that use mounts at all are those around guar.
Wealthy elf noble would probably ride an elk, I think. Magestic, slender, nimble - especially a hart with full antlers. Maybe they even carve the antlers, or encourage them to grow in fancy patterns. That sounds like something they'd do, just for the sake of extravagant beauty.
