how are DoTs effected by buffs?

So my question is lets say I cast poison injection with my bow. for convenience sake lets say I have 1000 wep dmg. I hit them they start ticking, then I cast major and minor savagery giving me 1280 wep dmg. Are the ticks going to get stronger with my wep dmg? or do I need to reapply the poison for it to be affected by my buffs? I have the same question about HoTs and certain AoE Dots (looking at NBs whirling blades and such). if I apply a buff mid duration do the rest of the ticks get stronger? or do I need to buff first then cast.

Affected* (I apologise, but this was really bugging my OCD)

I believe that for DoTs, they base themselves off of when the skill/spell was cast. So if you buff after you cast, the DoTs would not get buffed. You need to buff before you cast for the DoTs to be affected.

However, this works on the other side, where if a buff wears off, the DoTs you've already cast aren't lowered.

HoTs are changing dynamically based on spell power and healing bonuses of each moment. Funnel health is an exception, since it gains its potency from the damage done initially, funnel health HoT fluctuates only if +healing bonuses vary on weapon swap for example but spell power changes do not affect it. These are facts I have tested myself thoroughly this summer.

Based on what I have read on Tamriel Foundry I was under the impression that dots were changing dynamically too. I have not been playing a dot build so on this regard I am not sure. I recall there may be also some difference in the behaviour of the scaling if the dot has an initial damage part or if it's a plain dot. Hopefully you'll find the answers.
