Im not saying you, but it seems like a lot of the people who say no, seem to just be trying to *** people off and troll, and makes me think they are PC users because they don't care and this change doesn't matter to them...

The discussion has moved from sharing why people don't want a feature or why people do want a feature into coming up with a way that ZOS would entertain so that those against and those for the feature can both be happy. (People will continue to comment with those reasons who are only responding to the OP)

I'd prefer you go back and read a few pages OR more importantly watch the videos in my signature as those for having the feature bear the burden of understand why ZOS scrapped the feature during development and also will benefit from hearing what their thoughts are in response to March - April in order to fully understand what is up for discussion or how to approach a new suggestion that hasn't been addressed.

As for why I personally don't want it, I don't think it matters as its not here due to a ZOS development decision or is it being considered at this point to be added by ZOS (per ZOS)

when did that happen? Because it seems to me that people are still asking for the feature and some are trying to steer the discussion in a way that goes against this. the point of asking is so they will change their minds.

But for compromise, sure, I do find your social menu idea to be ok. Or they could program (or restore it from their pre-beta internal PTS from when they first made the decision) a text box in, and then have the option to reduce it to the social menu if you don't want it in your screen.

I created an account just so I could vote yes (it was a pain... took 3 days for zos to send me my invitation code)

Text chat is needed. I read threw some of the posts and I dont appriciate how newblacksmurf automatically asumes everyone who did not vote in the poll is sided with him.

This poll is probably a very acurate representation of what the community wants as a whole, and it is far from a "niche crowd". Especially when this feature is expected with any mmo.

The arguments against text chat have been weak and are obvious troll baiting. I am surprised zos hasnt banned them or closed this thread tbh.

I agree with some of which you've posted (e.g. how anyone who did vote is against it, the poll's accuracy, etc.). And to be honest, I don't quite see the sense to voting against it. Why vote against the possible/potential implementation of something that is aimed at making something better? Not to mention, something as important as a means of communication that is in some ways superior than voice-based communication.

I agree with you and Ive stated this myself. Implementation dosent hurt anyone, so long as it can be toggled on/off. And we are not advocating to get rid of voice chat, just to add text chat, because it makes the most sense with how to communicate with the masses. Area voice is fine for cussing at each other but text chat would enable me to reach thousands of players.

The guys who are vocally against it prolly play together, or with the same few guys, all the time and maybe they mostly do pvp with a pvp guild using guild chat. Good for them. PC transfers at the very end game dont represent console players as a majority. Or maybe they are just bored and find entertainment from arguing. I welcome their posts, most of which are just passive aggressive trolls, because it helps keep this thread on top where other people can vote and we can show ZOS how important this is to us. >80% in favor cannot be ignored!

We need to use trader and lfg chats man, we are limited so much without it.
We have guilds etc for getting groups, some aren't in voice because it's disliked, some are doing other things, others get nothing done because " LF 1 healer daily" - so much easier.

With text chat I absolutely buy any future dlc for this game.

Great job! This is exactly what you should do. I won't be buying IC either. This isn't a childish "i quit" statment either. I've put a lot of though into this. I have a ton of time invested in this game and I really like it but it's getting stale for me because I can't reliably find groups to do Trials and Vet dungeons with and in general I feel very alone with no good ways to group. I never felt this way in Warframe, because I used the LFG text chat and it WORKED!

Text chat would mean that more than one person could talk and be understood at the same time, it'd also mean instant and unlimited proximity communication with everyone in a certain faction online at the time. The very idea makes my skin crawl!! Oh how very dare you!?

That would be deterimental to the attention seeking darlings that sit at Rawl'kha all day playing their GAWJUSS rap beats that everybody abores ... I meant adores because we all love anthems about bashing your non-existent girlfriend and not paying for your child's child support. It's something for the kids! Bless.

I simply MUST have more voice chat. It's simply darling and anything that deters from such GAWJUSS forms of community communication must be diswayed. The very thought of making us read real live messages from other people in the community also grates on us so. All That reading!! My goodness! The brain simply collapses!

Yes, quite, I never said that in some kind of weird 'cut off my nose to spite my face way' what I meant was.. I'm just not enjoying the game anywhere near the level I know I could be, so why pay for extra content, when in it's current state for me and many others it has this glaring Achilles heel.

I dunno, it just seems like the lonliest multiplayer game i have played, and yet its full of people

Well, that's something that nearly everyone who wants text chat has been advocating for too. You should be able to turn it off if you don't want to see it.

I think it is clear that implementation with the IC patch will be difficult or impossible. I am currently working with the OP to see about updating the original post to remove the IC timeframe from the survey question, if possible, so that we may continue this thread as an overall support topic for text chat on consoles.

This has been a great platform for us all to voice our thoughts and feelings on the subject and I want us to continue to discuss it and show ZOS overwhelming support in favor of implementation of text chat on consoles.

Thats a weak and irrelevant argument.

I remember when they announced that they were not going have first person view in this game and they gave their reasoning as to why. It was something to the effect that mmos need a 3rd person viewpoint to see whats going on arround them, specifically in group content because first person view limits your feild of vision. (That was paraphrased). Then when the community voiced that they wanted first person view zos eventually added it.

They changed their stance after saying no. This issue with text chat is no different. And this is the way of mmos, just because they start off saying no doesnt mean they wont add it.

I wouldn't change the title of the thread, even though the time frame is off, some people voted no because, they want text chat, but it's not something they prioritized and would like to see other fixes in the game first

That does seem to be a common argument against implementation. I understand where these guys are coming from. I think. They have a good network of people to play with, or they solo, or they pvp mainly(which would still benefit from text chat) but for a lot of people grouping and just overall communication is the biggest issue. That's where I am.

I LOVE VOICE CHAT!!!!! I love that I can hear how ignorant, childish, sexist and racist the community is.
I love the fact that I can hear several people trying to carry on multiple conversations at once.
I love that if I have something to say myself. I have to speak louder than everyone else. With a family. Possibly kids sleeping.
I love the fact that someone trying to sell something over a period of time starts sounding like the teacher from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" Bueller.... Bueller.... Bueller....

P.S. I also love people's horrible taste in music.

Now this isn't indicative of my experiences with guild chat but anytime I wanna do anything that doesn't involve the guilds, these are the things I normally suffer through.

How are we supposed to form a group of 12 for trials? I tried tonight for a good 45 minutes. Had 9 at one point but 5 healers, 2 tsnks, and 2 dps cant get it done. Ugh. Frustrating.

He has an agenda and spends so much time and work trying to prevent people from asking for options. Let your voice be heard he doesn't represent anyone from the consoles as much as he likes to think he does. He doesn't. Text is chat is requested. The worst they could say is NO. NEVER HAPPENING.

Lets continue to bump this thread and hope they add it because it wouldn't hurt anyone as an option. I use voice chat everyday but I want text chat for other purposes. Also, what a great idea to bring your friends. The more support we show the more likely we get a response from ZOS.

It is a great game, its just a shame the communication is hindered. Hopefully thenport over the pc text chat or something similar soon.

sadly i couldn't take the horrible state of the console chat system of only using voice so i switch to PC since i found out controller UI was being work on for it. its really bad that i was enjoying it til every day going into town was a nightmare, people swearing, making R ape jokes,screaming into their open mic or just blasting music to block out anyone trying to talk.

Did you happen to be at the blacksmith in daggerfall last night? Perfect example of what you just said. There was a "naked men dance party" going on and they were all up on the smithing tables doing push ups on each other and blasting boy George songs. The stuff they were saying in voice chat would have been horribly offensive for most people but I'm so desensitized to our modern society I don't even care anymore. Lol
