Worth it to do level 1 equipment certifications everyday on my lower level alts?

Hey guys,

Well I was stockpiling up a bunch of crates for this update. Most of which were level 5 (ebony, ebonthread, fell hide, yew). I think I had around 50 in total when I opened them up, and I got 1 glass fragment out of all of them. I am now comtemplating geting certified and doing the writs on all my alts whenever I can. The thing is, if the chance is that low with level 5 writ crates, is it even worth doing level 1 writs? Plus 1 one of my alts is level 25, and the other 6 are below level 10. Unlike my level 25 where I make about 450g on turn in for each and only using level 1 mats (iron, jute, rawhide, maple), my sub level 10 alts will be given a small fraction of that gold, so I'd probably be taking a loss every time.

I won't stop doing the higher level writs on my crafting character everyday, as well as on my level 25 alt for the profit, but is it worth it to do all the level 1 writs on my other 6 characters as well? I don't plan on leveling my 6 other alts, they are bank alts for now.

I do the writs on alts purely for the extra inspiration gain when I'm still leveling a craft. Once maxed, I generally only do the Alchemy writ for the survey maps to turn around and sell plants once I hit 25 in each.

Other than that, I generally don't bother with it.

Your right in that the gold reward is scaled to character level. However, since you can do 4 to 6 writs per 100 stack for low level equipment writs, then you have to figure out what it costs to buy a 100 stack of mats and if the gold you get from the writs is more than the cost of the mats. Of course you could farm for the mats and then it's all profit, farming for 5 or 6 alts would take a long time.

Now, that being said, it is worth it to do Provisioning at all levels, as you have a great source of rare recipes on top of all the ingredients you get.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I'm pretty certain that they did something so that your "saved up" writs had an extremely small chance to drop glass fragments. I only got one from the 80 writs I had saved up yet I've since got 2 more from 2 days of doing writs on 1 character only and enchanting writs on 2 other characters.

That said I would say it most definitely is worth doing at very least the enchanting writs on your lowbies. I got 5 Kuta from my level 9 lowbie doing Level 50 writs in Rawlkah on Tuesday and 3 more Kuta from him yesterday.

Those enchanting surveys are very nice as getting a double Kuta with a chance at a quad Kuta (haven't had one yet although I've had several quad Rekuta) for next to nothing in cost is worth it.

Ah I didn't know they put some measure in place to prevent that from happening. Even so, I've been opening my level 5 writ crates every day since the update (18 in total) and no shards. So the chances still are pretty low.

Your level 9 is level 50 (and I'm assuming level 10 in potency improvement) in enchanting? I used to do level 1 enchanting writs for a while on my level 25 (then around level 15- I play this character very rarely) almost every day for a while, but I don't think I ever got a Rekuta, so I stopped.
