Hmm. Which zone are you in currently? Are you looking for rare fish or for Perfect Roe?

Some spots will "close" after one or two attempts. Oceans and lakes are great spots, as well as rivers. Pretty much anywhere in Auridon.

A little bit of a tip: see if you can find fishing where other players are. Your chance to catch rarer fish increases.

There is no 'best' place to fish. There are better techniques to fishing, which involves using the right bait for the type of water you fish. Better fishing means getting more fish to fillet instead of used bait. All fishing holes have a limited number of fish, so they will disappear when emptied, only to respawn later. Don't fish with others if you want perfect roe since those come from white fish not rares and you get more whites fishing solo. Do a search, you should be able to find a link to some great fishing sites to help improve fishing.

Here's a basic fishing guide, including examples of what each type looks like (in general) and which bait to use.

There is no best place really. Every fishing spot is the same with the only difference being the type of water it is and thus which type of bait to use. I find rivers to be the simplest because there's always a million bugs flying around for bait and by the time you exhaust the river the spots usually start respawning at the start. If they haven't respawned yet there's usually quite a few critters you can get guts from to fish the lake where most rivers start. Ideally you want to find these areas around friendly npc towns so you don't have to deal with constantly respawning mobs while you fish.

Once you can go to Coldharbor (when you unlock the Hollow City part) it's super easy to find fishing spots, if all you are after is quick spots so you can get Perfect Roe. There is loads of water and it's all foul so just two types of bait and no risk of getting it wrong a few times. You can just run from one closed hole and find another within seconds ;)

I think what OP was meaning is where are some locations with multiple fishing holes close together. He doesn't want to fish out a hole and have to run a mile to be at the next hole.
