Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold

As per the patch notes 2.1.4:
Main Quest
Cadwell's Silver and Cadwell's Gold: You will no longer become blocked from completing these quests if you jump to a friend or otherwise teleport to Silver/Gold zones before you actually interact with the Light of Meridia.

I take this to mean that I can now go any of the zones and complete the quests even if I haven't completed the silver I could port to a friend and go to the gold zones and do those quests? If this isn't want that means can someone please clarify it for me thanks.

I still believe that the (travel to player) is misused in game otherwise its used as a exploit by most players.

ZOS intended it for players to be able to play with their friends or guildie's , not to be able to get into zone's u just don't qualify to be in.

DUMP the travel to player function, please. for the 1000th time.

it is great for being able to zones that are my level but don't have to do all quests so I PL myself and not have to grind all the quests over and over for my alts. Great the first time, ok the second but 3+ is just long and rough imo.

It would also be nice for traveling around for guild traders reasons.

No, it doesn't mean that. There was a bug in which the quests would not work properly if you used /traveltoplayer after getting the quest from Cadwell and before using the Light of Meridia. You can now use /traveltoplayer before activating the Light of Meridia without breaking the quest, but you still have to have the quest before you can do that.

I'm going to go off on a tangent here. If I were to port to a player in my Cadwell's gold zone (I'm currently in silver), does the loot scale off of the level of the mobs/containers in that area or will it still scale off of my level? I ask because I want to grab some daedra hearts and would like to know if they will drop in a gold zone if I'm still VR4...

You can't port to another player in silver or gold unless it is unlocked for you. I tried it with a friend and he couldn't travel to me.

I have to say thank you for the explanation as I saw this in another thread but....why on earth do the patch notes read the way they do. It should literally be what you just commented and the other note should be completely deleted.

Loot in Silver/Gold zones is scaled to the zone regardless of the character level.

So if you go to Silver at level 45, for example. The mobs will be V1 and the loot will be V1 too. And the daedra hearts in particular are not "leveled" so much as they are found in the zone.

WHY do you care how other people are playing the game? How does people being able to get into zones effecting your gameplay?!? For me, I use this as a means of taking a lower level character to higher levels to collect Skyshards in order to give my character a better chance of survival without having my alts struggle through content... I like to make my PvE characters as OP as early as possible because that's how I like to play and it doesn't impact anyone else... and I only solo PvE.

I think FAR TOO MANY people on here worry about how others are playing the game instead of looking in the mirror and focusing on one's own business. They think 'everyone should be forced to play like I do' because they have the "world revolves around me" attitude. The game is and should be designed to offer players numerous ways to enjoy the game because not everyone is the same and not every enjoys playing the same... and trying to take things away from players simply because 'I don't use that feature that way so other people shouldn't be able to either' is just wrong. **end rant**

Once you get to the correct Vet level you should be able to travel to Gold without having complete Silver I have 7 VEt ranked characters that I play only 1 of them is able to go gold all the rest are stuck at v5-v14This because I've done the silver quests so many times I actualy hate it, as soon as I start and try crack on with it I instantly fall asleep at the keyboard, I enjoy PvP and play it a lot more than questing this also means that once I reach v5 PvP is my only way to get Xp and its so slow going. It's redic that you can grind to v1 blast through the main quest be forced to quest silver then you can grind again to end game in gold.......sigh
