IC Spawn Location Camping Needs Addressing ASAP

ZOS folks, please - you need to make the immediate areas around ALL spawn locations (ladders, the spots leading down into the sewers from the districts) safe zones so that no one can be attacked while they are changing zones. Right now, people are camping those (sitting on top of them) and killing people as they are loading in - which means the ones zoning in are unable to fight back, and are dead before they can even move. Please address this so that people can no longer do this. There is nothing more frustrating than dying while you can do nothing.

    The thing that baffles me is we know they can do it because there are already quest areas in IC that are safe zones - all they would need to do would be to make the area immediately around the spawn points safe zones as well.

    @Starshadw This should be in place already; every ladder has a timed immunity buff that lasts for 30 seconds.

    @ZOS_BrianWheeler I think your timed Sanctuary buffs on the sewer <-> district ladders are not long enough. Loading screens between the two areas are taking in excess of 2 minutes to complete. It seems though that Sanctuary is being applied when you activate the sewer/ladder in the district you're leaving (you can hear the sound effect), meaning it is counting down during the loading screen. It would make more sense if the buff could be added after the loading screen, when the UI is initialised in the new location and the character appears in the world.

    It's been a few updates since I've had a loading screen less than about 40 seconds.... this makes no sense.

    Given that most folks are seeing loading screens of 2 minutes or more (I know a number of guildies who are looking at 5+ minute loading screens) as you mention above, 30 seconds is definitely not enough time. Is there a reason it can't be an AOE sanctuary instead of a timed one? Meaning that as long as you're standing there, you cannot attack or be attacked? I might be missing something, but I don't think there's any way to abuse that. A player standing in the sanctuary AOE can't be attacked, but would be unable to attack as well, and so there would be no chance someone could be standing in the safe spot and attacking people.

    I suppose someone could step out and attack, and then run back, which could be a pain.

    It won't stop people from stealth camping nearby outside the safe zone, but it would prevent them from stealth camping and attacking literally on top of the spawn location. And at least players loading in on either side would be able to figure out how they wanted to proceed, as opposed to discovering after they've loaded in that they are under attack and almost dead.

    Incidentally, if there's supposed to be this same sanctuary buff when entering/exiting safe zones in the district, these are also not lasting long enough. When I step outside and my character loads, she doesn't have the purple visual telling me she's safe. Frankly, I was surprised people weren't camping those locations as well.

    The other major issue with camping that needs addressing ASAP is people camping the three entrances to the sewers - they sit there in stealth and again attack as people hit the door to begin loading inside. I've also heard that there are some who sit and simply spam skills on the spot.

    What these people doing this don't realize or care about is generally you have 0 Tel Var stones....

    Last night I was with a small group in the Arboretum District and a large blue group was killing the players coming in there. We had already deposited our Tv Stones so when we dropped down they mowed us over and only gained AP. They continued to farm us as we respawned in that area which wasn't a big deal as there was 0 Tv loss. Large farming groups are really only hurting themselves like this. You get minimal stones and loot the bigger the group.

    Easiest fix for this regardless of loading screen length:
    1. Change the buff to work like a round, timed AoE. While inside the area, it provides Sanctuary & Silence. Exit the area and it times out after so many seconds. (see Templar Rune Focus)
    2. While in the AoE, the timer refreshes.
    3. Any combat initiated by the Santcuary'd character would also cancel the effect, similar to Rapids.

    It wouldn't matter how long your loading screen was or was not this way. Only the length of timeout would have to be balanced (to prevent you from having free run immunity past mobs or PvP groups after exiting the area)

    One other issue that does need to be considered it camping of the entry gate to IC. (I won't even get into how lame that is to a certain AD emp. and his/her crew.) If your Alliance has access, your alliance should have access, and it's not as if you can exit IC's front door to assist those trying to get in, since it takes you back to the Alliance gate.
    Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

    The current mechanic of a timed immunity is vastly superior to the OP's suggestion of safe zones (hopefully next week's loading screen fix will solve the problem of losing your immunity due to a long load time).

    Having safe zones around spawn points is just asking for idiotic playstyles and exploits.

    District safe zones work slightly differently - there's an AOE Sanctuary at your alliance Rally Point (the respawn area where the ladder comes out) which is quite small, but works fine; and there's certain places in most districts which have Sanctuary inside them. All of those interior Sanctuaries except one have a separate exit which leads to a Sanctuary-infused balcony, so there's no timed Sanctuary on the entry door.

    Then it's a guarantee those doors to the quest locations will be the next spawn location camped by these jerks . Because the same situation applies - you're either zoning in or out, and you are completely vulnerable while doing so.

    Incidentally, if there's supposed to be a safe zone at those spawning locations? I'm not sure they are working - I've been killed by AOEs up there.

    Here some mechanics to prevent that:

    1-look down there. Are people camping. 1.5If yes get into the trap door and change district.
    2-jump down if you are killed by campers refer to 1.5
    3-between district use smaller doors in corner. Then refer to point 1.

    PLEASE but an immunity buff on the door outside of the Alliances Irrigation entrance from the base on BOTH sides please!!

    If a player can touch the door and start the animation and get to the black screen they should be safe. Others pvping in the area should not rubberband the player back in the action. This is extremely annoying, especially since zergs are making runs to Alliance Base sewer gates. Though, I would prefer if it that whole little room were a safe zone.
