Lag isn't caused by adding 2 extra fields to a database. Neither is it caused by doing lookups when you open a mail

Compared to constant movement and combat updates ? The TRIVIAL traffic a couple fields of STATIC info sends would be not noticeable.
If you notice those few packets , you've got far worse problems.

have you ever played on PC?
Lag is a real issue whereas it's almost non-existent on console.
The only differences are add-ons and text chat vs voice chat.
It's one or the other causing the lag
