Poison Damage and Patch Notes

The following line is still in the patch notes for 2.1, yet I was unable to get any sort of official answer on this on the PTS forums. What does the following statement apply to:

Poison will now scale off of Weapon Damage or Spell Damage

From what we saw from people on the PTS forum, it doesn't apply to the initial hit from Poison Arrow, Acid Spray, or Lethal Arrow, but it also didn't seem to affect anything else as well. Any chance we could get an exact answer on what this is supposed to apply to and if it is working?

Pretty sure it means that the damage that poison inflicts will scale off of whatever attribute is highest. Although, I thought that poison damage was just a flat number that scales based on player level/enchantment level. Now it appears that those using skills or enchants that add poison damage can ramp that damage up by stacking spell/weapon power. This doesn't appear to be that big of a change though. There are only a few skills that apply poison (both magicka and stamina variants), so it simply ensures that whatever attribute is used, you'll get the max damage possible from poison effects.

In theory, yes. But the limited amount of testing that was done on PTS showed that this wasn't applied universally, hence why I want an answer on what SHOULD it apply to, so that we can see if it IS.

Agreed. This is the key issue here, and I'd love an explanation as well. Also would like to know if Thaumaturge and 5pc set bonuses buff the poison damage from enchants, abilities, 5pc set procs, etc, as I've heard conflicting reports about this.

I can confirm that Thaumaturge does absolutely no damage bonus on any poison skill anymore. It is bugged i guess.

Maybe we can get an @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_RichLambert up in here?

For that note in particular, it's referring to the poisoned status effect.

Which ability specifically wasn't increased by Thaumaturge?

Thank you, Gina. Although that could be made MUCH clearer in the patch notes.
