There are some extremely competent women leading PvP groups and Trials. Just play the game and you'll figure that out.

(Now I just need to figure out the point of this long thread.). B)

Historians will look back on this thread and label it an important catharsis moment in the player base, stemming from a climax of cultural conversations precipitating from events such as "gamergate". Or it will be ignored after tomorrow lol who knows.

Are we going to ignore the fact that The Fn game director actually responded to a post and didn't use /lurk and then players started persecuting the F out of him? Show some respect FFS.

I am a woman and I have created and build a now very successful endgame PVE/PVP Guild, with most of my members being male (there are two other girls in the lower ranks) - and all the men in my guild have no problem having a 'Queen' for a leader rather than a 'King'.

So far, within my guild and the whole game itself I have never been treated any differently for being female in this game - which is really really refreshing seeing as I am more of a hardcore gamer then most men I know in real life!

I am a female and what I like about ESO @MornaBaine and @ZOS_RichLambert is that no one knows I'm female unless I tell them. Now the assumptions that I'm male are not anyone's "fault" but the limited experience of some players.

Do I know what Morna means explicitly? No.
Do I think things in game need to change? Yup.
Change because I feel as a woman my viewpoint is ignored by the game makers. Hell yeah! Fix the Lag in Cyrodiil.

Lot of the assumptions could come about because, so many men play female characters. MMORPG = many men online role playing girls.

Sadly, the article doesn't really get into MMOs but as my guild is about a 50-50 men/women split I'd say it's pretty safe to bet a LOT of us "girls" play this game. You MIGHT want to start paying attention to that ZOS. Just sayin'.

Hey that's a good idea. Lets add a "tail length" slider in character creation
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I think she was saying her concern about the game is no different from anyone elses, despite being a lowly "girl" LOL

@ZOS_RichLambert I have inadvertently through life discovered what is missing from ESO. My 4 year old son while arguing with his 6 year old sister, told her he didn't want to play her game because she "rubbed her girl smell all over it" :lightbulb: That is it! ESO is missing it's "girl smell" :p

(note: I realize that likely no one will find that little comment as funny as I, however as soon as he said it I immediately thought of *this thread*. An argument between small children....resemblance is quite uncanny imo)

I don't see what it is that ZoS isn't acknowledging here? In fact, I think they've done a pretty good job at making the ESO environment welcoming and appealing to both genders. Sure, I miss the more sensual outfits you could put on your characters, but I highly doubt this entails that ZoS is ignoring its female population, or just denying they exist. In fact, that actually works out in quite the opposite manner. They removed the more revealing outfits to deter from the typical "dress your character up as a sexual item" mentality. Also, if you look at the character customization, you can see that you can make your female and male toons of any shape, size, and looks. So in this whole aspect, if this is what this post is about, I think ZoS has done pretty well....lol.

As for the community: Sure, I've been called some derogatory names quite a few times by ignorant little boys playing this game, but for the overall experience I've had with other male players, they're actually quite respectful to me. I spend a lot of time in PvP, and that community is said to be a lot more harsh towards females. But, honestly, the guys in there I've not had many issues with (it's normally other girls who get catty, ironic, right? lolol). And in the PvE environment, there are SO many women who are in the top-tier guilds, I don't think I've ever been in a raid without at least one other woman in it. The males in the PvE section of the game are also pretty respectful, and I've not had a problem there either. So, again, I'm still not sure what the gripe in this post is.

ESO is great because the community, and the game itself, is really balanced with its female and male populations and needs. I mean, male character can wear dresses and female characters can wear suits (which is amazingly fab, might I add), what more do you want in gender equality? lol.

As a female, who is pretty loyal to ESO, and is a pretty dedicated player, I find this post a bit over the top and ridiculous. One, because you don't even state what your deal is. And, two, because it's a cheap way to try and cry for attention while using "female gamers" as an excuse. This is the kind of crap I really have an issue with, and that I don't blame male gamers for having an issue with either....

    I'll answer that for you.

It is supposed to address the need and desire for female characters to have armor buffs for being barefoot, more recipes for sandwiches to make and serve in-game, better selection of weapons to include frying pans, rolling pins, serving trays, and the highly requested class of Pregnant Warrior, having the ability for random berserker rages, being in and out of battle.

    Joking!

In all seriousness female gamers are looking for more things to wear that is of the "feminine" variety. How a long black silk dress will protect you appropriately from a daedra attack is beyond me. But hey that's what the girls are clamoring for.

No offense to woman, but I couldn't help, but laugh about your joke. I can just imagine a hormonal pregnant warrior rampaging on the field, I think most of everyone on the opposite faction would retreat lol.

All jokes aside it would probably be best if a large portion of woman would gather in one thread and type down what they would like to see. That way the devs or ZOS community employees or moderators can communicate with them on their behalf and decide as a whole whether to make an expansion or a big free update with more of the things female players want. I don't think any of us arguing about whether this or that, will or won't happen is going to get anywhere. There needs to be some sort of long thread or a multiple choice poll that devs can use to make stuff happen. I've been following this thread quite frequently and it just seems to be an argument that's going to go nowhere. That's my big 2 cents, bash me if you want I'm only saying the truth.

Uhm? Of course you wouldn't understand. It doesn't need to address ANYTHING besides pointing out that we are -NOT- invisible. We are a huge part of the demographic that is routinely "Erased" by others because we are a perceived weak minority. Boy's club is -over-. We're here to stay. You can keep asking in your cute rhetorical manner "Girls play games?" well, we're over it.

This thread doesn't need to "make a point" past just showing that we're here and we're not going anywhere and we're tired of being invisible, overlooked, silenced, and told to "Deal with it" by the supposed male majority.

First, the website referenced is incredibly bias and highly suspect in its reporting. Second, these surveys were debunked a long time ago as being misleading due to the lack of details such as the type of games the demographic plays (females tend to play casual mobile and browser based games for instance). This has very little relevance to ESO.
