Is Dawnbreaker of Smiting always going to hit for 60% more damage against Vampires? Since vampires will take 25% fire damage instead of 40% in Imperial update, what about fighters guild abilities like Dawnbreaker?

If so, I don't really see the point in being a vampire in PvP anymore because I'm being hit for 25k-40k dawnbreakers, and it's a cheap ultimate.

    While i'm not sure how the damage works out in exact numbers to give you a direct answer to your question, Yes you will still be one shot by the vampire hunter skill.

    I'm going to give IC a few days to settle first before I decide whether to stay PvP-ing as a vamp or not because it's gonna be filled with daedra everyone is gonna be running a fighter guild skill and just...eugh. Though I will miss it, it compliments my magicka NB so well and that ultimate is just so good.
    You might end up missing it too @CrowsDescend because of the mobility it brings your templar. (pretty sure your a templar as I've seen you on the battlefield a few times)

    is it Fire dmg?

    Vampires will take 60% more dmg from that skill if it's not fire dmg. And if it is fire dmg than you will take 125% dmg of the normal dealt dmg.

    From what I see animation cancelled dawnbreaker isn't a thing anymore. And 25k-40k... what?

    My gear is repaired.. the last one hit me for 24k then like 5-7k lingering DoT after it, or something stupid

    Sypher has a video where he killed like 5 ppl with this skill that were not vampires that I'm aware of, it can be deadly to anyone.

    I don't see why it would be reduced, unless the skill description said it was fire damage specifically. Far as I know it's Magic based so fire penalties/resistances won't mean anything.

    Even flawless dawnbreaker morph hits like a truck too. It's so cheap because it's usually night blades who open up with a stun then instantly do it, so there's no escape unless you're on the move and that's not possible all the time, obviously.

    It's magic damage, so I doubt anything will change.

    It does the same to wearwolves if that passive (skilled/expert hunter maybe) is unlocked.

    Well I think vampires have reduce damage at 50% life for 30%. So at full life vamp would take alot more damage vs at 50%.

    So lets say 1000 damage is small with 60% is 1600 damage - 30% after life is down half way. So it only does 1180 damage vs 1600 damage. The way should work rather it works like that is different story.

    My PSN is slightly different but yeah last time I encountered you I tried to jump you while you were repairing a wall nearly got you but damn your tanky, fought less tanky DK's xD

    Oooh I see :wink: that's surprising to know though, since I try to be as tanky, healy and damagey (lol) as possible... how weird does that sound, but yeah... my stamina sucks! so I don't last that long tbh.. that's where mist form comes in! Vampires are so useful, so I will probably just continue with this curse and accept dawnbreaker's fate :D

    If I think my opponent is another vamp like myself I usually try open with a fully charged heavy inferno staff attack, tbh most vamps do not even survive that, or barely do, especially if they aren't aware anyone's around. But I've alot into elfborn so some of those could be crits.
    I can live with dawnbreaker melting my face caus I can turn around and kill groups of people with clouding swarm + concealed weapon. Even got hate mail over it lmao.

    You could just slot mist form and prevent 75% of the damage from happening. Once you survive the initial hit you gotta purge the DoT and your good to go.

    I have and I do. They usually dawnbreak just after I exit out of mist form.

    Well vamps have got too have some weakness, fire dmg is lowered to 25% and that makes is so easy to completely remove the actual weakness.
    PS4 EU DC
