After reading the OP here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/211200/im-not-loyal-to-eso#latest
and seeing a lot of bitching and whingeing from little princesses in the Server Down Again thread, I thought now might be a good time to say how much I love ESO.

Ever since I started playing ESO, I've been raving non-stop to a couple of my gamer friends about how much I love it and why they need to start playing. My nagging has paid off and both are set up to play. *happy dance*

Why ESO is my fav MMO (in no particular order)

* Zone chat is not full of spam. There is occasional trade spamming, but not to the extent seen in other games. Not to mention the scammers trying to sell game currency etc.
* Douchebaggrumpypants peeps are minimal. Sure we've all encountered someone who ended up on the ignore list, but the for the most part ESO players are a friendly, silly, helpful bunch of folks.
* Pay to win not a major issue: I understand a lot of people might disagree with me here, but for the most part having a fat wallet has no excessive impact on character advancement. You can't join ESO as Lvl1 and immediately go buy the best weapons, armour etc. Those things you have to work for. Even if you are willing to pay for them, you have to make the gold to buy.
* Play your own way. PVP, PVE, Crafter, Fisherman, Trader. No penalty for playing the game the way it makes it fun for you.
* No subscription required. You can pay once and never spend another cent on the game if you really want to. I believe this makes the game more affordable and therefore more accessible by more players. (Even fiscally challenged folks like me) As a side note, I think the cost/benefit of ESO+ membership is pretty fair too.
* Grinding is not a necessity to level up. You can do it if you want to, or to farm or whatever; but you don't have to spend hours grinding on mobs simply to make the next level. ESO provides so many ways to gain XP that levelling is fun not a chore.
* Absence of incessant patching updates every time you launch the client.

There are a few other things, but I think that's enough for now. In conclusion, ESO is the first MMO I've tried and played without quitting in the first month, that to me says everything.

Strange as it is for me to say it, yes I even love PVP in ESO. Although my computer doesn't. I'll be upgrading my entire system in the next few months, then I intend to become a lean mean PVP machine :)

eso is 1 of the best if not the top mmo ive played in terms of graphix and lore, although the high amount of players who are cheating, exploiting and the high amount of bugs kinda make it not fun to play.once eso fixes the bugs and cracks down on people using bugs and exploits to there advantage. i can see this game being the best mmo there is.
    must not forget. the LAGGGG

I don't think it's anything like it could've been (subjective) but it's not too shabby.

I'm going to sound like a total fanboy, mesmerised by the amazing quality of this game for saying this, but I don't care..

Guild Wars 2 for me, but this is a close second. WvW and Cyrodiil both could learn things from each other.
This post will not take you an unusually long time to read.

Comparing to the other mmorpgs out on the market right now ESO is in the Top 5 in my opinion. But on it's own ESO is a 3/5 but could be better.

It has potential but I don't see it reaching it to it's fullest with the way things are going. There are some major design flaws in ESO: THe veteran rank system, an all open Imperial City which makes Cyrodiil close to pointless, Forced questing through the other factions in cadwell's silver and gold.

My friends dragged me into GW2, but I just couldn't get into it and they were flabbergasted. I must have tried it like 15 times just to appease them.
Spent a majority of my time in RIFT and getting insta head-shot in Heroes & Generals

I love this game. The attention to detail and the writing are among the best of any game, I've played and it's really rare for me to say that. I've started recording my conversations via screenshots so I can revist them later. :D Besides, I've been burned and let down by so many F2P/B2P transitions where it became all about the money and *** mechanics where the designers forgot all about the casual players.

I've had a few iffy moments, but ESO has been great by comparison. I love the way the combat flows, it's a great deal of fun.

ESO is a great game even with the problems it has, my only real beef with ZOS is they do not fix things in a timely manner, like broken exploitable game mechanics that effect the player base in a negative way.

I like the quests, the voice overs, I like the pvp do it for hours everyday, I know I will never be emp or even in the top 10, but I am always the middle of my class on the leader board and that is good for me, I know for some that take pvp way to serous it is hard for them to believe there are still some folks that play it for fun and sport and with friends.

I am looking forward to the DLC's that are coming down the road, also player housing, and other sandbox features that help our characters feel like they are living in the world and not just playing though the would, which imo has been a big problem with a lot of theme park mmo's.

As I said in OP, this is based on my experience. I understand ESO has it's flaws. I think it is virtually impossible to create a perfect MMO, way too many variables to take into account. What I love about ESO is the absence or limited presence of all the things other MMO's have that annoy me to point of making game no fun.

I would be lying if I said there are changes to mechanics I wouldn't like to see, but that doesn't change the fact ESO is the only mmo I've played for more than a month without wanting to, or actually quitting. Now I've reached Vet level I still find the game interesting in challenging in different aspects.

    You know what's funny?
I never got into ESO due to it's mixed reviews.
So many negative comparisons toward WoW, that it made me biased against ESO before even trying the game.

A few months before playing at console release, my friends were uber excited about it finally coming to PS4.
And , at this time, I've been playing FF ARR and loved it, at least the PVE side of things, and the interface , etc, etc.

But once all five of us started playing ESO, I fell in dire love with the game.
PVP is the best PVP experience I've ever witnessed in an MMO. The PVE side is amazing too, I love how much loot is in this game! I'm a sucker for loot!

Also what is funny, is that none of my friends who dragged me into this game, are still playing ESO, lolol
I've been dedicating probably 90% of my gaming time to this game since and have no intentions of going elsewhere.

I'm glad I got into this game, it's a blast.

    Basic point, screw critics.

Being a dedicated long time Elder Scrolls fan,I love ESO to death, and even though many people seem to have big problems with it,..I dont.A few minor things have given my bumps along the way,but nothing that would make me unsub. And I sub to help keep the game going. If my meager $15.00 a month can go to paying for server use,or voice actors,I'm happy to participate.

Ive never played MMO this long in my life, my last record was 15 months (Rift) and I played Planetside 1 back in the days about 1 year. So kudos to Zen. And I probably stay alot longer theres nothing decent coming in near years, EQN might be worth to check and Black Desert Online, but I doubt they have no content for months. My wet dream for the future is Diablo MMORPG, I never understood why Jay Wilson was kicked for making 10 mill PC game, so theres hope.
