for whatever reasons eso is down, compensation needs to be given to subscription users.
in this era where redundancy, high availability and business continuity are all viable solutions, this should not be happening.
likewise down for patching, crashes and what nots, the subs needs to be compensated, because they have paid for the service.

actually no it doesn't. read your agreement, downtime for maintenance is built in. Stuff like this happens. If its down for days, then yes compensation is needed. But for outages of 24 hours or less... that's an inheirent risk in any online game. And I am a subscriber...Me: "Okay lets run to Alessia. Mount up and follow me!"

Oh giveover - Zenimax probably has insurance to cover outage that affects their business. Stop making out that they are some hapless little victim here. Despite it being a rather adult-rated cartoon it still had segments where they actually played music videos for the 2 to comment on and even headbang at. How often do you see music videos on MTV now? I would just rather the message be something along the lines of, "Our brand new, state of the art, nuclear powered servers are currently experiencing issues, which we are working to resolve as quickly as possible," instead of, "check your connection..."
