Stutters

Ever since the server crashed a few days ago the stutters have gotten much worse. IE when someone joins a grp. Only this happens constantly without someone having to join said grp. It seems random but i notice it a lot when i streak, or am being gap closed. Go from 60 fps to 4. Anyone else dealing with this?

Once or twice a day. Exact same problem. Only thing that was fixing it was closing client and restarting comp. DL'ed new Nvidia drivers, and that may have fixed it. Too early to tell.

Stutters occur for me with gap closing.

Yes. I've been noticing it a lot. I go to teleport strike, stutter, and then my character stands there locked up completely, fps drops, then goes back up. Are you getting the locks at all?

locks on skill bar? i dont think so. though its hard to tell. next time it happens ill check. let u know in 30 seconds.

It's like my entire character is frozen after the "stutter". She just stands there, abilities aren't greyed out, but nothing can be done, then after a few seconds she's not frozen anymore. It's really odd, and has been happening consistently.

hmm no it happens at any time. skills lock or not. im seeing, if ppl around me gap close, it does it. not everytime but probably once a minute in heavy combat. and i thought the lag was rediculous.

I would suggest taking a look at your add ons. I had some performance issue that sound similar, and they where caused by my add ons using up too much lua. It probably not what is causing it, but worth a look.

u know what, could be it. i recently lowered mine to 128 from 200. will test it out now

I get it only when player enters a group, larger the group, longer the stutter. Once I even crashed after someone joined.

I'm having alot as well. Getting them when trying to weapon swap and use certain skills. Very frustrating.

This is what I sent Meth:
Navigate to \Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live. Open UserSettings.txt and set the following line:

SET RequestedNumWorkerThreads "0"

If stutter is still present, also set the following:

SET RequestedNumJobThreads "0"

Press Ctrl+Shift+ESC to enter Task Manager. Make sure eso.exe is running at Normal priority, or at most Above Normal. Never run it at High or Realtime.
Change the affinity to 0,2,4,6 if using an Intel CPU with hyperthreading enabled. This stops the threads constantly bouncing between cores.

do what akinos said, I've actually had friends tell me to do the same thing and such. Worth trying out, it only takes a minute!

It's obvious what the problem is silly.....take your finger off the lag switch....amazingly the stutter will disappear! It's not block afterall.... you don't need to permahold it!

I'm going to create a new Sorc tonight....I think I'll call him Mehtoothlessaaaa

No Sorcs were hurt during the creation of this post.....because I am unable to log into PVP while at work.....
