Is there ever going to be an app that lets us get notifications and post on the forums or even view our characters? Stuff like what we have equipped or what's stored in out banks and what we are carrying. Maybe even our transformed stats.

Yes. ESO-To-Go is launching with IC. It will be in the major App stores for $14.99. There will be limited functionality at first (forum updates and bank inventories), but with Orsinium it will become fully compatible with your console/pc gaming experience. In fact, with a solid wifi connection, you will be able to play a 2-dimensional version of ESO. Not many people know this, but ESO was originally developed as a 2-dimensional game. This was scrapped when ZOS realized the modern MMO community expects 3D. However, ZOS kept the 2D version around for a handheld release. The whole ESO world will be available on your phone, with access to your character and everything that the megaserver has to offer. Just a few months!

Latest word is that the handheld graphics/display will mimic that of Ultima Online.

You can, they don't advertise it too much though, changing the view distance can have disastrous consequences

    He's trolling you.

A companion app is the norm these days especially for console games.

I think it will be a great solution to adding text chat in while keeping the HUD clean.

Joking aside, there is actually a companion app for these forums, complete with posts from Devs (so already better than this forum).

Its called "Reddit", on your browser on a mobile phone...............
