with my dk I just tab him and run after him spamming burning embers/rooting until he is dead pretty easy to do since he is slowed by burning embers and I will never run out of magicka spamming that ability.
my nb just spams ambush because of the root and nice damage
and my templar jesus beams the *** out of him and if nessesary I use toppling charge
I catch them with a concealed weapon between mist forms r root them with crippling grasp. You can't regen magicka in mistform so even a magicka build will run out quick enough. The tooltip is kinda misleading though since you can still get rooted by talons etc in mistform even though it says your suppose to be immune to control effects. Unless the game itself actually defines soft and hard CC *shrugs*
I only personally have mist slotted as a magblade to avoid caltrops.
There are some special cases, which have not been mentioned:
- The enemy uses the 5-piece light armor pvp-set bonus (Cyrondil's light). In this case he won't even take 25% damage from area effects in mist form. For all other vampires in mist-form: just USE AoE, if you absolutely want to damage them, and there's a little time-window, when the player comes out of mist form. (very good players interrupt it, or pop their shields and then they enter it.. then it gets difficult)
- The templar magicka-regeneration buff [8sec], which he gets with the restoring ritual is bugged and works with mist-form. This will only be in the game until the next patch, which is in 1-2 weeks. So, you might encounter a templar vampire, who can move in mist-form forever (you will see his tiny little restoration field!), but not many know how to do it, so np! And this bug was never game-breaking, as most templars are group-dependent kittens with a very high opinion of their healer role and zero respect for other opinions than their own (if the group ends they might stop playing, go in mist-form and ALT+F4)
- If the vampire has 30k + magicka and he uses some pots in between, shields, etc. (too many combinations to mention them all) mist form can take a while.. Do not think, it's just a 30 sec or so
- Remember: player can interrupt mist-form any time
- Remember: some magic abilities work in mist form (test yourself)
