New Player looking for crafting advice (am I going to have enough skill points?)

Blackedge7
Got the game last week, hit 32 last night on my nord dragon knight. I've got a lot invested in blacksmithing, but have been neglecting the other crafting out of fear I won't have enough skill points once I hit 50.

My question is, is there enough skill points for my build +blacksmithing and clothing and or provisioning?

Would really like to do blacksmithing for making myself weapons, clothing for making medium armor and provisioning for those awesome drinks/buffs just worried there's not enough points for them

Yes, from what i understand after skyshards etc, there are enough points to max out each skill tree, including crafting.

I wouldn't worry about messing your character up by putting points into crafting

I just hit vr1 and I'm doing clothing, woodworking and blacksmithing. I'm doing ok but you have to get all the skyshards. I'm also a werewolf so I've got 11 skill points in that.

Im VR9 with maxed out blacksmithing, woodworking, and clothing. And I still have about a dozen skill points just sitting around.

I say max out all that stuff now and if you find out that you're really in need of those extra 10 points then you can re-spec (I've heard) and buy the perks again in the categories that you find most useful and don't get the ones you don't like. As well, with the re-spec you'll find that you wont unlock some of the lower level perks in some of the trees and you'll probably come out with a few extra points you weren't expecting.

Yes and no. If you only use one play style then yes you'll be fine. If you like to mix things up and try a plethora of different skills, you won't have enough. I'm vr14 with about 250 skill points, I have ALL crafting maxed, but only enough points leftover to do the skills I use and the passive a for those skill ones and racials.

But I also haven't gotten the sky shards from crag lorn or cyrodiil. Once I do, I'll be okay. Just food for though.

Well, I've read that with the Imperial City dropping they will be doing an auto respect for everyone. Can anyone confirm this?

If i remember my math i did correctly it takes about 150-156 skill points or so to max out every crafting skill line ( this can of course be lowered by ignoring passives or not needing the keeneye skils in ea. line) i belive the current max of skill points is hovering around 300 if you do all the quests and skyshard collections that awards them so yes it will take A LOT of time but you can max all the crafting lines and still have enough left over for a functional build.

I am sure you will have enough points. But I recommend splitting crafting across different characters. That is what I did, and I have plenty of storage for my mats.

    For example:
    character 1: blacksmith
    character 2: clothing
    character 3: Provisioning
    character 4: Enchanting
    character 5: Alchemy

I think one mistake I made, was using 1 character for blacksmithing.

Blacksmithing you can only learn up to 3 traits at a time. If you split it up between two characters

    character 1: blacksmith (armor )
    character 2: clothing/blacksmith ( weapons )

You will be able to learn 6 traits at a time ( 3 for each character )

If you want a friend, get a dog.
