where is our option to turn OFF xp!

as an ongoing continuous subscriber I did not ask for and did not want extra XP. The existing levelling curve is way skewed already so anyone doing more than following the basic questline is already going to out-level the content without even trying. A completionist like myself is constantly fighting against out-levelling the content over & over. PLEASE at least give us the choice!

I have now got to the point I am no longer playing because it seems I have only to log in, craft an item or two, maybe sneeze and there goes another level.... I want to be able to enjoy content at the correct level.

The whole thing is about choice.. Right now I am not being given that choice.

Please allow those of us who do not want to rush to some mythical 'endgame' to enjoy our journey without being forced to outlevel the content!

At the very least, subscribers should have a (FREE) switch to prevent unwanted xp.

A setting option to gain 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of the experience points ?

Perhaps there could be something like Completionist's Pack in the crown store, for each zone, that would mark everything in that zone as complete, so people could complete everything without losing any exp by switching off bonuses.

@Kulvar - Yes that would be even better, but I was trying not to be greedy! Even a simple on/off switch would be better than nowt.

After all, I am fine with the extra xp on my V14 character who has completed pretty much everything up to Craglorn, but my other characters who are in their 30s and below would really appreciate the chance to do everything at level without 'avoiding' dungeons, delves & Cyrodil purely because those activities make them level too quicky.

Yes this option would be good for pvp in the non vet.

Would be nice to have a toon that could stay in that campaign with xp turned off.

lol ZOS get moaned at for not providing, then moaned at for providing too much. I'm pretty sure this post could have been articulated in a nicer way considering you're receiving something a lot of people would kill for.

No, it woud be in fact very bad for PvP there, because what makes the noob campaign, in part, superior to adult pew pew, albeit by increasingly smaller margin, is that players either do not have higher level skills and passives at all or only have them for limited amount of time and definitely not all of them. Less of jesus beams, bolt escapes, fears etc.

I recently watched Timeout from Tamriel where they discussed lowbie PvP. They readily agreed on it being fun, more than adult PvP and then went on to agree on, to my amusement and disgust, how would it be cool to have an option to stop exp. So clueless.

This might be a joke, but for me it's serious. If I could halt leveling, I could remain in the NON-VET PVP forever :)

    That would be nice.

I was not really even thinking of PvP as I have been avoiding it on my low level characters as it is yet another thing that makes me outlevel the content.. I am not that interested in PvP to be honest.

But for those of us who actually enjoy the PvE content, the blanket excess xp is killing the PvE game.

I suspect there is no easy 'one size fits all' answer.

My own take is that maybe PvP xp and PvE xp should maybe be separate. That way we could enjoy both without them having a detrimental effect on each other?

I agree...Just do the quests....You will level fine...I'm not sure I understand the complaint.

Is OP unhappy because the battles are easier than they feel they should be?

Trust me...You'll be begging for those later.

I remember doing a Fighters Guild quest that was a little out of my Level. The one where you find out the Kitty Cat has been lying to you about Sees-All-Colors. I thought I would never kill that last Harvester. No matter how hard I tried I could not, at that point, stop those balls from healing her. It took me literally 30 minutes of avoiding death and basically doing heavy attacks with my staff and using AOE attacks on the balls to finally down the thing.

After that...If a quest is yellow or orange I'm ok with it. It doesn't always have to be red for me to enjoy it.

Maybe someone that never wants to leave the non-vet PVP campaign?

@nickg420 have you actually tried that fight lately? In beta and shortly after launch yes it was a challenge. Now she rolls over& dies if you so much as look at her - the fights have been nerfed into oblivion. Which is sad. I WANT to have to think about a fight, not have it handed me on a plate. Without challenge what is the point of playing at all? Even Molag Bal was a pushover once some kind guildie told me that 'block is your friend' - and that was before he was nerfed.

My point is simple. Some of us feel that it is better to travel than to arrive. That the journey should be meaningful and challenging. And that we should not be forced to skip well-written stories or fun dungeons purely because someone else wants to skip the whole game and be 'level 100 right now' without experiencing any of the wonderful, diverse world out there.

For those who want that, carry on, but please do not force those of us who wish to enjoy the whole world at level to skip content just in order to be able to do so.

@dekkameron I think you missed the point - I have been avoiding PvP altogether as I do not want to outlevel the PvE content. As far as I am concerned PvP xp should be able to be kept separate.

That way I could enjoy my occasional forays into Cyrodil without them adversely impacting on my enjoyment of the PvE game. Just because some people prefer PvP does not mean they are the only ones whose opinions are valid.

To clarify - I have one character who is V14. I found that, having enjoyed doing dungeons/delves etc with guildies, by the time I reached the Silver and Gold parts of the PvE content I was way over level so most of the quests posed little challenge and the rewards were completely trivial.

So I decided to try on my Sorc to stay at the 'appropriate' levels for the zones. Worked ok until I got to about level 12 or so, then I made the mistake of doing a couple of delves and an anchor or two and suddenly all the mobs were so easy it just was not fun any more.... So thanks to the extra xp I never wanted, I now find I am avoiding PvP, delves etc just to try to have a fighting chance of staying at a level where the content might be at least mildly challenging.

As for the 'solo' guild quests, what the heck happened to them? In beta I remember wondering if I would ever beat the Clannfear in Cheesemonger's Hollow, but I kept trying - it was great fun and really felt I had achieved something when I finally got him down. On this character I went in, looked at it and it keeled over.... Same for the lamia in the Fighters Guild line. And those quests are supposed to scale to my level? No challenge, no sense of having beaten the odds, nothing....... I was sooo disappointed :(

I completely agree. There should be an option:

    Main Menu -> Settings -> Gameplay -> Experience: ON/OFF.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Or Crown Store -> Consumables -> Potion of Retardation (reduces exp yield from all sources to 0 for X hours). Traditionally, players pay for exp boosters to get unfair advantage over other players by outleveling them. But in the noob campaign, they could still pay for exp boosters to quickly create level 49 FOTM builds and then they would have to pay repeatedly to prevent vet out.
The Monetization Department should really consider it. They would not even have to worry about cutting sales of riding lessons by it, because most of the time people are stuck in combat and can not mount anyway.
They could also buff ESO+ exp boost to increase demand for exp-blocking potions. But not too much, XP/CP boosting scrolls must sell too.

@jarky If you were Level 35 trying to complete Level 27 content, you may not want to level up any further either. Overlevelling content is a major issue in this game (before Vet Ranks) if you're a completionist.
