So are we all Ok with some of the Sorcs builds doing 20k instant hits and having 20k shields?

Basically what the title says. Is there any kind of doubt this should be addressed? Skills that do 18-22k damage (instant cast) + spammeable 20k shields arent a little... just a little... to much for a class that also has the highest mobility in the game?. And what makes it worst, by far, that they can doo all that with the SAME BUILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So:

Top burst in game (Stam NB are there too).
Top sustained dps in game.
Top shields in game (Oh yeah by far).
Top mobility in game.

And worst part is, the same build has ALL OF THAT at the same time. Yeap, you dont sacrifice all your dps for survivability, nop, more magicka = you get a bigger shield, you can teleport even more and still do crazy dmg and burst. Ofc add CP to that.

Before i get called l2p etc, i been playing since day 1, have 5 vr14, and i was doing plenty of pvp till recently. Really after 1.6 the Sorc/NB dominance is just ridiculous. But by far Sorcs are the worst.

I got hit by those today. Linking the screens here just to show im not talking without proofs. I was playing a vr14 all legendary light armor with sword/shield and destro staff. I can share build if you need.

Considering they don't have to be in stealth/out of combat to get those numbers, and can fire off dozens in a row rapid fire style, I would say yes, it is a terrible design.

But then PVP as it is now is all a terrible design. Everything is unbalanced by CP and constantly chases some exploit/fad of the moment OP build.

ZOS have a long way to go before they are anywhere near balance in PVP. Perhaps cutting the damage and shield values in half and buffing defense next expansion will help some, but I doubt it.

Someone else said it best in their thread. "Shouldn't we fix PVP before we go forcing a PVP-centric expansion on everyone?"

Doesn't look like I'll be trying PvP anytime soon in this game.
Between balance issues and getting one-shot by maxxed out CP players anyway...
ZOS can keep their new PvP DLC.

You can do it with a magika DK also. Stack healing ward, igneous shield and annulment then focus on spell dmg. What's the problem? I can do that while perma blocking with sword and board if i want to get real funny. Stamina doesn't regen but magika does

They're nerfing flame staff damage and reducing bolt escape along with several other changes.

I think they should level everything out then stop listening to people whine about opposite classes...your PvP crying affect my PvE fun.

Also, wheres the 20k shield? If you want to be even close to that dmg u need to focus all in magicka, so u ill have around 18k HP, which means the DK shield will be around 6k.

I been playing in the PTS btw, Sorcs are the top pvp class and by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar the top pve dps class. You were saying?

Lol salty much? The 20 k was a crit obviously maybe you should keep pressure on the sorc and wear down his shields with DOT instead of trying to pencil whip him on the forum

For the past two days I've been in non-vet PvP and it's actually fun.

The battles last longer than "I get hit and die" and sometimes I actually live through them.

I hope that ZoS nerfs the heck out of all vet damage in Cyrodiil - currently vet campaigns are a gankfest for high CP vet 14 players and a death fest for everyone else.

First off every stop blaming CP for this. ZoS added it to help boost some players builds how ever it was the player that ruined CP not ZoS.

Second it won't be like this for long U7 is next monday (for PC) and so far the way to go is magical NB with there new VR16 dropped gear cause hey appearntly crafted gear is OP and needs nerfed either though half the drop sets are way better than most crafted sets.

You really should just wear down a sorc's stamina before trying to burst them...

Before people accuse me i do have a v4 sorc but my main is a v14 magicka dk.

Also frags is blockable, reflectable and dodgeable.

Overall top PvE sustained DPS you say?

No.

Once overload has run out then it drops off the edge of a cliff, and it takes a long while to charge overload fully so you're using up to 10 times fewer ulti's than the other classes if they used them as they pop.

Plus overload is an ultimate... it SHOULD hit hard!

As far as frags goes... again its situational & a lucky proc & crit is involved in getting it high damage. Its the easiest ranged projectile in the game to see, dodge, block or reflect.

Don't misunderstand me... I'm not saying Sorcs aren't strong in PvP right now... they are! But I'm just pointing out that there is a reason for the 2 skills you mention there hitting so hard. There are trade offs with both that the sorc has to put up with to get those high bursts sometimes.

Well with DK what you'd actually get huge damage on is power attacks on someone under 40% health, so yeah you'd have to already be low but there are builds with molten armaments where you can get 20k+ auto attacks with fire staffs.

That all said, most RPG and MMORPG pvp is utter trash because people have convinced devs that "progression (eg time spent in game) should matter" and it does so more than player skill. PVP is a place where player skill should matter more than time spent in game.

The two MMO's without garbage PVP are GW, and GW2, and that's because they take "progression" out of the picture and make player skill be the deciding factor rather than time spent in game.

Almost all skills are blockeable and dodgeable, what has that to do with anything? I want my wip to hit 20k then... you know... since is blockeable and dodgable, oh... and give me a 20k shield too and a mobility skill, why not right?

There are tons of other skills worst than Fracs, stop the lame excuses. Whip, biting jabs, etc are worst than frac, hit MUUUUCH less, are melee, etc.

How in anyones mind having one of the highest bursts, dps, defense and mobility in the game with the same build is defendable?

Its fine if you are happy that the game covers your lack of skill, and now that you rerolled a Sorc you can actually kill someone, but come on, have some pride and admit when you are wrong.

Its as simple as, check the population, there are more Sorcs and NB than anything else, and have in mind that a few months back DKs where the most used... so all that ppl rerolled a new character.

I'm in complete agreement here. I really think gear should be meaningless in pvp. It would be a beautiful day if all MMO's would apply that line of thinking.

I hate how Dks complain so much, you picked your class now deal with it. You have to take the good with the bad so what sorcs are op then stay away from them. You cant cry about their abilities being to OP when you can just spam reflects and send them back along with all other projectiles. Each class has its ups and downs and you just need to accept that.

Who said my main was a DK? And im not crying, im poiting a problem that you just confirmed. So if some class is completely broken lets not fix it so they can enjoy for some time? Thats the way you want to balance a game?
