Sorcerers need viagra

Why can't sorcerers keep their familiars up? If you zone out they seem to lose their libido. Sure it's no hassle getting them back up again but why do they disappear every time you zone?

SUre but why ? Is that a bug or an intended mechanic ? It's a disadvantage to have to recast them everytime you cross a door or a portal, because you're half down in magicka already once you've recasted the whole damn menagery/toggles.

Been that way for awhile, I never thought it to be a bug, same as not being able to mount a horse during combat. Always thought of it as working as intended

Because you are re-zoning, which is basically completely reloading your character in a new area- while in the game you are just 'walking through a door', in reality your character is being completely reloaded in a new location; the same thing happens when you use a Wayshrine.

It bothers me too, but then again, casting my familiar is another chance to proc crystal frags, so I'm not sure. I use the Clannfear primarily for tanking, so when I run into a boss den and yolo it thinking my familiar is there it does screw me up pretty badly.

Thanks, but I figured this out myself.

It means it's not a "bug", but it's not an intended game mechanic. Therefore I'd like ZOS to look into these toggles remaining toggled in those situations, surely it's technically possible... ?

Same thing used to happen in EQ2 with Conjurers - then SOE patched it and it never happened again. Just one of those things that slipped through the cracks when they released the game unfortunately.

Wow. Is that what really happened?

    1. An inconvenient effect happened.
    2. Affected Players asked for a solution
    3. Developer didn't ignore them or say "working as intended" and actually fixed it
    4. Fix actually worked and problem didn't return.

Where is this fantasy land? Sounds like a dream.

I agree and I feel that all toggle-able abilities should remain active until you deactivate them. You should only have to re-apply if you log off and back on.

Same thing happens with magelight and inferno.

This is a minor issue, but having pets and abilities active every time you change zones might increase load times. That might be one reason they are inactive when you change zones. If this is a bug, it might not be worth all that much to fix it.

Its like this because it is very difficult to code a bit switch to remember an ability's state. It's like rocket science stuff.
