Meteor spamming exploit

Hi everyone,
I was testing my hybrid sorc on PTS with a decent ping of 200 (since I am in the EU zone) when I saw this DC player using Shooting Star multiple times, more or less 1 every 5-6 seconds. He was in a group and 2 or 3 other players were doing it. I have already sent a ticket, but I would like to bring this exploit at everybody's attention, so someone may find out and report the mechanic behind it. Keep an eye open

So this will still be an issue in Cyrodil. @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom maybe we need a greater Ultimate cost for PVP only. We either need a greater cost for it or a timer on it so it can't be spammed within a 60 second period. Again this would be for PVP ONLY....

This is a known bug. One of the devs/moderators commented on this a couple of days ago. Apparently it is a bug that lets you accumulate ultimate much faster than is normally possible. I don't know if it works with ultimates other than meteor, but that is the one that it is being used with.

A different player just two days ago posted a video of one guy spamming Ice Comet every 3 seconds. In that same thread, a dev/moderator confirmed that it is a bug and is being fixed with the IC update.

In any case, they may have been running the bug to also see if it causes lag. Brian did say we should test meteor spam.

There was another thread about this meteor spam issue which got a ZOS reply to it. Let me quote the official answer here:

It's a little difficult to tell exactly what is going on in that video, but this looks like a bug that has been fixed on the PTS but the fix has not yet been pushed to the live game. It's not a hack or exploit, just a bug. (This is why we ask that our forum community refrain from pointing the finger and accusing others of hacking and exploiting. Things are not always as they seem.)

The fix for this bug will go live with the Imperial City patch.

Yeah I never believed for a second it caused lag anymore than having 100 people in one spot spamming any types of abilities such as healing springs, barrier, Cleanse, Caltrops, Siege Shield, etc.

I wish everyone was forced from live over to PTS for a few days of Cyrodiil to see if the lag is gone. I am willing to bet it's not.

The group I saw was formed of 7 people, no more. No lag issue then.
And I can recognise a Shooting Star from a Valkyn proc, Xael...

That's console and there is no way to tell that one guy was the only one hitting him. I see no CLS or Recount showing who did what.
In fact 7-8 seconds into the video you can see another AD enemy running underneath him in range for an Ice Comet. He is not the camera view but he can clearly hit him with Ice Comet. So at best the Piki guy got 2 off in 30 seconds which is impressive, though he could be Emp/Sorc with Dragonguard on. I don't necessarily think this is the case, just saying there is a lot you can't see, particularly when you make a smear video without Recount or CLS showing what's being done by who.

Today I clearly sae the same guy spamming it, with animations and everything. The first time, I got killed with this method, and became curious: was it really a meteor spamming? Maybe lag, or something? So I released and hid myself inside the safe area, watching that group fighting. Soon realised it wasn't lag or combat frenzy/daedra ultimate recharging, it was an exploit. Many stopped to watch as I did, I wish they were here to comment

I have two friends templars we did a dungon today they both ulted every seconded for the hole dungon im have pvp guild members doing it oponly talking about it you telling everyone its not a bug for the sake of just telling people there wrong is getting boring

Well, i already faced bug when Shooting Star is not wasting ultimate so i could land in repeatedly. Not sure yet what proccing this bug.

Seeing the guy is constantly spamming Vigor, I guess that's the culprit causing you to gain ultimate like mad.

Could be worse.. could be on live.. but it takes a twisted person to keep on exploiting stuff like this on PTS, doubt they'll stop if it happens on Live... and doubt ZOS will do something about it, if it does.
