What annoys you most about ESO/players?

For me, it's the people. Yes there are bugs, exploits, etc etc but it's the people that really drain my energy and fun from the game itself for me. Why? Because as flawed as the game may be, people are what make those flaws so much worse.

People on consoles who have their mic sensitivity so high that we can hear their baby screaming, a person coughing 100 miles away and a damn grain of sand falling on a path in some remote village in China.
Saw a mudcrab the other day. Dreadful creatures.

ESO's community is from the most part composed of mature players, usually older players too which I like. Been a huge jump for me from other online games where it was full of young immature kids, (literally "kids" around the age of 11) that would hold nothing back from insulting others. But I haven't experienced such a thing in ESO, thank god for that.

But just recently I've had this guy in a gold pledge whose acting just stunned me since I got used to the better community. We entered the group dungeon in Fungal Grotto and engaged in a combat with the first group and killed them with ease. Me as an achievement hunter player that cares about completion knew that the "finish dungeon under 20 minutes" achievement's timer was already running. It started when one of our group's member said: "2 secs". So I suspected he'll need just a couple seconds before we continue the dungeon, it took him a good 2-3 mins before he got back. Now I understand that, sometimes there are more important things you need to do and even though I didn't know what he needed to do, after 2 minutes I got a bit nervous about the timer. So the conversation went like this:

    Me: "The timer's running >.<."

Guy1: "okok im back" (some time after I mentioned the timer)

    Guy2: "what timer? pizza timer?"

    Me: "Achievement timer"

Guy2: "nobody cares" (wow, this brought me to my knees, didn't expect such rudeness)

    Me: "Well, I do."

    Guy2: "thats to bad"

Now if this was any other MMO I wouldn't care, I would just roll with him being like this. I was simply stunned that there actually are people so arrogant to say it so calmly and straight up like it was just another day. I mean I also get like this from time to time but I try to keep it polite, whatever it is I need to say, I point it out and I don't talk to people like this.

The dungeon went on as we encountered third group of NPCs that my group simply kept dying to. The dungeon was scaled to V3 as we all were around V1-V3. I was the healer there, doing my best to keep them alive and it was the best they could get. But 2 of them were simply blindly running around, getting all the mobs and barely doing any damage. I've been doing the healer several times in vet dungeons and nobody ever died because of me, either these guys' gear was far too bad as their hp went from 100% to 25% within two seconds or they just did something wrong, I dunno. That's when one the mentioned "Guy2" told me to "stop sleeping" and "dude start healing", as if I was the one responsible.

Moments later I got kicked out of the group and just left to search for another players. Got to a group of players that yet had to do Silver pledge which I've already done but still offered myself to run it with them as we went for a Gold pledge afterwards. We've gone through both dungeons smoothly without any issue.

Well that was a bit of my story that I'd have forgotten if it wasn't for this thread that reminded me of it so I felt like sharing it, lol.

But to answer your question, OP, to me it is when players act way too positively, as when it almost seems faked, only to make them look as best as they can to other people, almost like hiding something. Talking about their happy, perfect lives, being happy with everything, celebrating and stuff, meh I don't enjoy myself seeing these conversations but I don't interfere 'cuz this is simply my way of seeing things and I understand that they would think of me as the toxic, "evil" guy.

I can't imagine why anyone would not want all of their fun meticulously timed.

Especially for a race they didn't even know they entered.

Make friends with people who take things as seriously as you do then group with them.

I'm not saying that you are an awful person to play with, but you should not leave it to fate to match you with other players who share your particular play style.

    Try joining a pve guild.

on psn, na server ebon heart pact, the guild leader does achievements, skyshard hunts, killing all the secret bosses.
Those guys love that stuff, but some guy whose 3 year old just spilled some cereal everywhere probably doesn't want to hear it.

Oh another one for me are the players who are always begging ZoS to add sexist female armor or dragons or OP daedric artifacts that only a few players can have access to at a time.

Yea cause it really be fair for a player to have the 1 shot 1 kill Merus Razor or Sheogoraths Wabbajack and turning every one into chickens or fishy sticks.

Apparently not wearing any real armour and showing off what you had for breakfast in Korea/Japan gives you MORE armour as it creates some kind of "sexy shield"

I agree about the LFG Tool shenanigans post-50. I never had any problems with the grouping tool until I hit VR1.

I find that occasionally after a group forms some won't even know what dungeon we are doing and then we end up doing a dungeon I did not queue for. I believe this has something to do with the ability to queue for any and all dungeons via the "All" option in the LFG Tool and that it should be removed or limited to a few selections, but not all.

It's terrible to wait for hours, albeit I'm running around questing etc, but when the group forms and you realise the people in your group don't actually want to do the dungeon you specifically queued for....wut? lol.

This more than anything makes me dislike the way the Grouping Tool works, I don't even mind the long wait times as long as we're all agreed on the same dungeon once formed.

Their incessant desire to see anything and everything nerf'd. Not a day goes by that something needs nerf'd. Whether that's because they just got their ass handed to them on PvP by said skill and were forced to rage quit or because they're playing a different class and haven't got access to a similar skill, they come on here with their UPPER CASE demands and cry about how unfair life is. They then tell anyone who's willing to listen how if it's not fixed they'll be moving onto another game this time next week. Only to appear the next week complaining again.

The rise of the trolls in the lowbie/opening zones. The generally run the gamut from irritating to disgusting, but some of them truly are malicious. Some days it feels like I'm stuck in a perpetual influx of thirteen year olds between the dead baby jokes and the occasionally, borderline, verbal harassment. It's not even good trolling, it's mostly just sad trolling like the guy who was complaining about having the beta monkey follow him around after trolling the Stonefalls chat for a good four hours or so. The quality of zone chat has taken something of a dive.

The terribad flirting is pretty funny though.

I still prefer this community to most of the others I've been in. So, take it with a grain of salt. Other than that, no complaints really other than the forum idiots who feel that every complaint needs to revolve around their issue and attempt to derail any conversation that isn't about that particular subject. (i.e. Console Text Chat. Yes. I get it.) "No complaints are valid unless they directly relate to meeeeeeee!" isn't a new experience though.

    Entitlement mentality.

    No-lifer circle-jerk.

    Chest-pounding exploit abusers.

    Crown-stacking, purge, aoe, bol meta.

People refusing to discuss issues reasonably, assuming there are only two sides to an issue, and avoiding compromise.

Lack of any sort of realm pride due to megaserver, and campaign hopping.

Management having so much talent under their supervision and having no idea how to manage them.

Knowing that this will likely be the last attempt at an ESO MMO in our lifetimes. And this is what have to show for it.

The refusal of the devs to try one single innovative/ballsy idea, in a series and IP that made it's reputation on them.

I don't know what you're getting at with campaign hopping, but lack of realm pride is actually a GOOD thing. The forums of MMOs that have multiple servers get bogged down by "oh you're from Server A? gtfo noob" threads and no sensible discussions ever take place. Then you end up with a server merge and half the server hates the other half and it ends up being an unenjoyable game experience. The lack of this element is one of the few advantages ESO has over other MMOs, and I hope that doesn't change.

But that disappoints me about basically all MMO players these days. The game's are basically still the same, but how players player them have changed a lot. That being said, thankfully ESOTU has seemingly a relatively high proportion that still actually practice the 'journey not the destination' mantra. Which is nice to experience.

I agree, mmo's used to be all about the journey, end game will be there when you get there, so what's the hurry. I think because there are so many online choices now, it has created content locusts that travel all around to the next "Big Thing" and back again.
