Just wondering after rearing 2.1 that vet ranks will require 15% less exp per rank, and that vet quests (silver and gold etc) are getting a 50% buff.

Now I'm curious as to how this will effect characters once it goes live.

Take my vr5 dk, done most of cadwells silver, about to start gold. Now will I get a rank from the xp level dropping? Will I also get 50% more xp that I've already earned due to the change?

My problem is most finish cadwells gold at vr10 roughly, if I bother doing that before ic drops then I'm left with 6 ranks of grinding once it's out.if current vr's don't get it added.

So a new character doing silver and gold will be nearly VR16 by the time they've finished, so am I better of waiting till ic drops to do the rest, or if I do it now will I get xp and levels owed to me?

If your current level xp is >85% you'll get level up. But you won't get extra 50% for your already earned xp. That doesn't make much sense as that that would instantly boost every vr14 to v16,

You will not get the XP "owed to you"
    It's our choice really
I used to postpone my Vet leveling all the time because of "incoming experience boosts" in x or y areas. It's not the first time ZOS ups the xp gain of Vet activities

Nothing will be credited retroactively, but if you are 900,000 into VR5, ie 50,000 over 850,000, you will be that much into VR6 after the update.

Ah right so say you're at vr10 atm, when the level requirements drop to 850k instead you'll end up at say vr12? But won't get any owed xp from the questing?

No no I get that I won't get quest xp.

But what I mean is atm vr10 is 10million xp (1 mill per rank right?) So after patch it will be 8.5 million.

So woule you log on at vr12 since you'll have 10million xp earned at vr10 already?

With that logic every V14 will automatically be boosted to vr16, that doesn't seem likely

As it is currently on the PTS, if you are VR14 with max XP bar, you will automatically be VR15 + 150,000 XP when Imperial City goes live.

You make a good point, in that case I'll leave my dk and work my alts up to vr1 in preparation, with my limited play time it makes more sense to wait as a 50% quest buff will make a good impact on time to rank up

That is completely logic. And its the normal way to go.People like us with vr14 since a year or more ago...at least should have a boost. In fact, every vr char <14 should have that +850k inmediatly when live too.

No, the game will only count XP since the last increase in rank. So it will only know that it takes 1 million to get from VR10 to VR11 and account for that, not that it takes 10 million to go from VR1 to VR11.

Well that will be interesting if it goes live like that.

A good interesting. Only 700k XP required to get to V16 which is a welcome reduction in grind given the rest of the grinds its introducing.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom are you able to confirm if this will be the case when IC goes live that we will end up being V15's with 150k XP towards V16 when the patch hits live?
