Bad idea to make a character on a different alliance next update?

I play on NA DC on the ps4 server. I was thinking about making an AD toon, but I keep hearing that next update will be bad for those that play multiple characters on factions and pvp since there will be no way to access the same campaign as your other faction characters. From what I notice, there seems to be only one real competitive pvp campaign, so not being able to access that may be a problem.

So back to my question. Is it a bad idea to make a character on a different alliance than my main?

It's definitely going to be harder playing on more than one faction if you have a few characters. You can't be in the same campaign as one of your characters from a different alliance and you won't be able to travel to players in a campaign you are not already in.

One instance where faction change would be a much needed feature
    Xbox EU - GT: o69 Woody 69o

    VR16 Sorc: Vlad V Impaler
    VR16 Sorc: Yes it's Woody
    VR16 NB: Prince of Wallachia
VR16 Templar: Sir Lancelot the Brave
VR16 DK: I'm Better Than You

you still will be able to play on one compain with characters from different factions, all you need to do is to find person who has acses to the campain you want to get, group with him and ask him to make a group que to the compain. It is defenently much harder then now, but still doable and reqires a bit of effort.

It has ALWAYS been this way. You can not have a character of a different alliance on the same campaign. This is because of the spying issue. I suspect that the other campaigns will be busy as well after the patch as EVERYTHING is being reset. (Azura's Star won't be finished as it will have 10 days to go for the end of campaign.) The campaigns will have different objectives. They will all be different from each other. On top of that, I know several PVE people who will be trying PVP because of the Imperial City. Queues will likely happen on all of the new and improved campaigns. The jump to player function will finally be disabled so the setting of a campaign will actually mean something. Glad they are fixing that exploit.

But , besides that, where is your faction loyalty? Why would you want to become a banana? ;-)

Next update ? isn't this how its always been ?
Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

nothing would be better then for you to make every new class on a different faction, i dont see how making more in game friends can ever be bad.

You will no longer be able to use the "travel to player" option to fight in campaigns where you have an alternate alliance character
