What's better a stamina or Magica Templar?

Depends. If you're looking for the "Paladin"-type with heavy armour and 2-hander, Stamina. For the D&D Cleric type probably a fairly equal mix of all three attributes. For a more pure healer, magicka.

my advice for starting is to run magkica no matter what the class. This is because you have 3 class skill lines. It levels these up quicker if you can use these abilities and have them on your bar. and magicka based well make them hit harder or heal better.

You cant get stamina morphs on all abilities and on those you can not until you have ranked them to rank IV, and they are weighted to one particular class skill line. meaning going stmaina may take much longer to unlock some of the later skills on your class skill lines because you only have 1 of them on the bar.

TL;DR - go magicka to level up class skills quicker by having more on your ability bar and still being effective.

Magicka. Don't bother going stamina. Jesus beam, scaled magical damage stuff hits harder than scaled stamina stuff imo. Plus end game were going to be healers/dps but healers first. You'll learn to like magicka just like I did. I started out 2h stamina but made the switch. And the grass is greener

Don;t knock the Stam Temp

I run both Stam and Magicka Temp toons and I love em both. Magicka is used as a full on healer and Stam Jabbsy with a twist

Doesn't matter. Radiants boring and won't teach you how to play, besides its an execute and works best as one.

Youll have mostly points in health while leveling (I assume) so it will be the gear, pots, food to match your playstyle that will make any significant difference. ie weapon damage or spell damage.

DW either way on one bar.

depends how you like to play. Wished you'd rolled a NB? Go stamina

Don't like a NB in this game, for me they are the most boring class there is. All you do is Cloak....

Pve dps clearly stamina (aka stamplar), magicka for healer/support.

For pvp I think stamina templars are pretty strong but Im not sure how good they are on pts right now.

Got my Sorc to VR 14 on PS4, fed up with magic now, and love the heck out of my Stam NB Khajiit, just to hear and see that 2h swipe .

Didn't help my last character in Dark Souls 2 was a Sorc, and Diablo 3 on PC was a Sorc.

So I am all Sorc'ed out.

Oh, you are talking about Templars, my bad.

I'd suggest a mix of light armor and no more than 2 prices of heavy
Destruction staff or healing staff (if Magic regen is an issue)
Over 30 PTS in magika
Light armor passives
Health points and very few if any stamina

One concern is the race but this isn't going to gimp you its just not going to open up racial passives for the magic build.
Instead once Vr1 use the champion points to offset the race

wow no one seems to have actually answered your question directly: i think, if you have been magicka all this time and are 44 now....

...Why not try stamina out. See how it feels see if you like it. It may need a full respec morphs and all, but remeber you have about 3-4 weeks to play around with it test things out and then after that you get another free respec because the DLC drops. so you basically are getting a freebie test of trying something different and if its not for you, you can go back.

also have you been playing as a magicka DPS up to now? and straight swap to stamina DPS?

or have you been playing more healer, and are thinking of trying Tanking? it doesnt mattter what you decide but if i was you i'd decide in your mind what you want to try, and gear up for it. stamina bow players are meant to be pretty beast but I have no experience, but lots of guides out there

Come the end of August or September depending on you platform of choice and when the new DLC and game patch release, magica.

Stamina will still work but magica builds don't suffer the same penalty with the changes to stam regen for even touching the block button and stacking cost of dodge roll if performed in succession.

I worded that poorly magic builds suffer the same penalty as stam builds it just does not affect the regeneration of their primary resource where as stam builds will bleed stam to act or dodge as well as loosing 2 seconds of stamina regen every time they touch block.

This can be applied to most classes (not so much Sorc, but definitely doable). My Dragonknight was mostly Stamina up until VR2, when I decided to give magicka a try. Definitely a lot more fun that applying a few dots and spamming Wrecking Blow.

I'm starting my Templar as a pure stamina build, but the way I leveled my Dragonknight was maxing out all skill lines, morphing only the skills I intend to use down the road, so I can be versatile and "change things up" when desired or needed.

Don't listen to "lulz, magicka is better, stamina is for n00bs" comments. Play what you enjoy. Both are great playstyles and both do well end game.
