Question: Why are there no Alliance Specific skills?

It baffles my mind as to why there are no alliance specific skill lines..Think about it for a bit the alliances are sharing their knowledge and resources that means some skills that would be only found in summerset isle would be tought to the khajit and the bosmer.

What these skills would be who knows...Its probably too late for it to be implemented as it could have been used to balance players for a certain alliance.

Very simple answer: Just look around these forums to imagine the discussion on balancing those, even if it is such a small thing as a rainbow fart emote.

Yeah, the only way this could be done without a lot of hassle was if the "alliance" skills were the same, just with different visuals. And what would be the point of that?

As for "only taught to Khajiit and Bosmer" - what about the people who have the "Any race, any alliance" unlock? And are Khajiit or Bosmer, just in the Daggerfall Covenant? Maybe that "only taught to..." could have been done with a racial active skill (like the summon ancestor ghost for dunmer, or similar)... but they decided not to go there, likely for balance issues as well (just look how much people scream and complain just about the passives!)

It has been mentioned to maybe have one alliance specific group for a skill line... Thalmor, Tribunal Priests, Ash'abha, Shadowscales, Ring of Daggers, Vinedusk Rangers, Morag Tong, Eyes of the Queen, Ternion Monks, etc.
But... balancing issues, the PTB just decided it to be too much of a hassle.

Nice idea OP, but as you say too late in the day to bring such options in. i just hope they can sort out PVP accessibility for Low veteran ranks, and the long grind for veteran ranks can be made to feel less tedious/ less of a barrier to get into whatever endgame content players want to be playing.

I like to think that if my character is not one normally found in the normal faction area its because their parents were escaping to fields afar and he simply grew up in those areas and so had access to the same knowledge. Though i don't think its necessary to add another level of skills. world skills, guild skills, class skills and weapon skills offer a lot of options for variety. And at the end of the day most people will take their favorites or use other peoples builds if they don't make their own. it wont bring anything fresh to the table and probably cause balance complications.

There are - just look at the dragonknight - the name dragonknight clearly suggests the dragon banner of the EP, and most of the skills fit hand-in-glove with the Dunmer race (and to some extent Nords).

You're reaching, as always. Dragonknights are obviously not faction-exclusive. There's a difference between actual exclusive skill lines and specific cultural inspirations for certain non-exclusive skills.

So-called "Alliance skills" are pretty much the same in all three factions - Zerg here, Zerg there, Blob and more Blob.

They would have to be non combat stuff at this point.

I dunno harvesting travelling etc. thus making them hardly worth implementing

Remember the intro? Your character came from wherever, was murdered by mannimarco, sent to coldharbour, escaped... and which alliance you found yourself in after jumping through that pillar of light was your "faction" from there on. So most managed to get close to home... and some didn't. Doesn't mean they didn't grow up there... Thus my point that if any faction-specific skills were tied to race, it would lead to out-faction race players popping up and crying "Me too!" If such be done, it would have to be with "faction specific guilds" - much like the fighters guild or mages guild skill lines, just one per faction.
Not too likely to happen, methinks...
