Based on observation I'd say it's doing really well. I've played since beta and have seen population fluctuate a bit here and there. After B2P things definitely perked up, and even more so lately with the incoming release of IC.

The real numbers are not public, though. So no one can tell you for sure besides ZOS.

Pretty sure I counted about 28 people in the Bank in Shornhelm last night at 9.03pm GMT.

Based on this fact, there are presently 645,934 people presently playing as of 14.55pm GMT.

I've been rolling alts in all three alliances on my second account recently, and the 1-50 zones are crazy packed with people (NA PC BTW).

Maybe my memory is shot, but I don't remember this many people in the early zones even at launch. It does thin out once you start into the VR zones.

IDK, but I seems to me that ESO's population is doing just fine. Plus I'm sure there will be a boost soon(TM) once IC drops.

I recently have been playing a new character and noticed the start island (Khenarthi's Roost) and first main area (Auridon) are quite bustling and I run into people quite often. Doing my first "solo" dungeon, I must have ran into 10 different people.

I think after the first zone it feels like it empties out just because people level at different rates, some skip ahead, many go into PvP etc. I personally think the population is good on PC (NA)

No matter what, but PS4 Eu is super crowded. I guess 30-40% come from PC transfer.

1-50 zones are fairly crowded, most cyro servers too. It does get thinner in vet zones until craglorn, but on the overall its far from feeling empty.

Yeah, but that only counts players that bought the game through Steam. For example I bought my copy from a GMG sale and thus got a code that applies directly to the ESO site. (I believe all sales of ESO outside of Steam work this way.) So when I play I don't get counted in that players online number.

That's because most of the people that bought the game on Steam don't use Steam to launch the client. I'd also wager the majority of people that are going to buy and play ESO won't be on Steam. I'm also sure there's a percentage of Steam Users that don't sign into Friends when launching the client, and thus don't contribute to the #. I never sign into Friends unless I need to speak to someone for a particular reason.

As for the population on the PC, I can only speak for the EP side of things, but the population is healthy.

It will be dying soon since new players have no reason to choose this mmorpg, everything in this game is against new players and just aimed to make the highest level players and guilds even stronger and more ahead of new players.

So you abandoned your Guild trader flame thread to come here and spout off this drivel again. I'll tell my friend that started two months ago, sitting on 150k gold from questing only, enjoying his own crafted armor and not doing too bad in pvp (although I admit cp's need a bit of reworking), that he will never have fun and catch up. I will also be sure to let him know the cities and dungeons packed with people aren't real. Congratulations, after two threads of bickering I figured out your problem. This is your first mmo and you don't like or understand the genre.

rofl its the psychopath with his fantasyworld again, my first mmorpg was ragnarok online and tried about every MMORPG since then, western and eastern, so nice selfpwnage right there!

If this is true, then your troll comments are puzzling. With your vast mmo experience you should well know that in every forum, some scrub angry about this and that comes in and makes a false claim about the how the game will die soon. If you want a non new player friendly title, you're looking for an eastern p2w grindfest. But you know this already. So why continue trolling on with obvious falsehoods. This game is very solo/new player friendly. Gold is not hard to come by, nor is there really that much you can get with it to separate yourself from a new player. Fail troll is fail.

    This is all so true.

Very newcommers friendly, maybe not high end PvP but in the end what games let you access the top on day 1? None? If not, none that is still running today :) and for a reason

Last few weeks I have leveled 2 characters to about level 40 and the population seems good, on the PC. Considering the game is broken up with PC players, PS4 players and XBOX players - it's really healthy it seems. Population would be amazing if we were all playing together..

True but you would still have to actually grind and play the game to reach that point, just a lil bit faster.

This is true. But they could also get their own for crowns if I'm not mistaken. Cp's and the gap in general I concur will need some looking into going forward. But really until it's high end pvp, that new player will never feel gimped compared to you whilst leveling and doing most of the pve content.

Lets say its 10 times as much, hell 20 even - still not much people on. And thanks to megaserver technology you always feel there are a lot of people. Fact is if vet zones are almost empty- then litteraly few dozen players are actually there.
