Why? Let me give you just one example:

Zenimax: ESO will always be subscription based and never have content behind paywalls
Reality: ESO goes buy-to-play in less than a year and has a cash shop with accesss to zone restricted by DLC

ZoS is doing great stuff but it isn't really much of a secret how they tend to listen to the streamers and youtubers more than the little people like us.

Like alot of players my self included have went on how heavy armor still needs some buffs to be valid in pvp cause shields are still the best defense in PvP but ZoS hasn't done anything about it or of course adding a arena t the game. Nearly all the players in the game have asked ZoS to add one but they haven't for some odd reason.

It costs a lot of time to make an arena, so maybe in the future?

Its simply because when a player is happy about the game he doesnt come to the forum to say it, he just play the game.

So the forum is filled mostly with people unhappy about something and their way to make them heard (or so they think) is to feed a gigantic drama hoping they'll be noticed, they also like to claim they speak for the majority of player while they merelly represent 0.1% of the communitty most of the time.

If you want to see happy players, play the game :P here, its mostly troll-land.

They are a corporation. Corporations are here to make money. I personally don't mind that but i do tend to resent corporations when i feel they could do more. Because I know how much their executives make each year and I'm not falling for the "were so broke we can't afford to " bit. Every corporation tries to pull it but look there is a new law being put into place. The Securities and Exchange Commission is going to make these corporations list how much the executives make so the little "we're broke" game won't last much longer. Look at the 2008 financial crisis it was because corporations were being so greedy they ran everything into the ground. They still had billions in their own pockets though

This thread is a can of worms, haha!
    This and things like it:
Why? Let me give you just one example:

Zenimax: ESO will always be subscription based and never have content behind paywalls
Reality: ESO goes buy-to-play in less than a year and has a cash shop with accesss to zone restricted by DLC

    and so much this:
ZoS is doing great stuff but it isn't really much of a secret how they tend to listen to the streamers and youtubers more than the little people like us.

Couple in bugs still broken from launch, pvp lag fest/junk pets adding more to server, missing functionality people expect from MMO's (UI, trading, TEXT chat.....) ....yeah, people throw up the tired excuse "ESO wanted to be different", and that's just fine and dandy if your "different" exceeds the standards set before you but if it doesn't meet that standard, most consider it a fail.

Better to complain and hope for change than simply take your money elsewhere (as many have/continue to do)
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Why? Have you played the game on tried to ask ZOS an honest question? They refuse to provide any information and refuse to answer questions. The game balance is horrible. Why would light armor give magicka and caster buffs when leveling the best gear for a caster is medium and heavy? Why does the necro set have sturdy trait, mostly stam enchants when the set bonuses are +magicka nd the 5 piece is for when u have a pet out when only 1 class gets pets? Why are there no good craftable light armor sets like hundings (and several others) for med or Hist Bark (and others) for heavy? Why does med armor have +stam, +stam, + spell crit, light & heavy attacks do more dmg?

    Background:

-Initially a crowd drastically desired a new TES game but later learned that Bethesda was not making a new game aand instead was allowing ZOS to craft a TES lore based game as an MMO.
-From interviews a distinct version of DAoC seemed to be what was being created in an TES skin
-People wanted to have a TES game with some online capabilities but largely didn't want a change of genre

    BETA (PC) 2012 - 2013
-The game begin faction based and was not at all a feel of TES other than some artwork, regions, races but was lacking in class, game-play and rationale
-The traditional MMO crowd was thrown off with the UI changes and add-on limitations which pushed a large vocal group away just before the release of the PC version
-Bugs...bugs...bugs and system crashes that went unresolved or even ignored for lengths of time

    PC Release/Console delay 2014 - 2015
-A number of suggestions and acknowledgements were made and continue to be made publicly but it seems to take months or even a years to actually release such features, content and changes. Some would say they are being lied to or largely mislead as customers by ZOS

    Today
-By platform there are allowances/features for some that aren't available to others that tend to be present on some platforms and not on others. (Consider also there was a PC to console transfer option and PC began a year prior to console release)
-People have a hard time accepting ZOS decisions that align with their own approach but that differ from traditional genre games of the past

    In Conclusion
-we all need to get over ourselves (even me) and learn to realize we either made a bad decision and need to move on
    OR
-we need to learn to take the good with the bad and enjoy the game as is with hopes of tweak, content releases and information updates as the company chooses for current and future enhancements. (Also even me)

Most are holding onto one situation or decision and using that as justification for a negative attitude towards the company even though we continue to play the game each week. We actually really like the game but just cant get over one thing or maybe two....

People here go on and on about how Zenimax doesn't give them what they want and that honestly is not a big deal because:

    1) You can't always get what you want.
    2) What some people want others may not.
    3) People never truly know what they want.

As for me I honestly detest the fact Zenimax is more focused on the upcoming IC content on PTS more than fixing issues on the already existing game. They delayed the console release for at least a year and a half yet they can't set aside their DLC testing to fix some big issues in-game? THAT is why Zenimax gets negativity at least from me. Fix the game so it can be played period before adding new content is all I want. That and a more low-level-friendly market lol

Gamers are negative towards every mmo developer. The people who aren't negative are generally the ones that aren't as passionate about the game in question, and don't really care what changes go into it, what gets nerfed, what gets released, when it gets released, etc. So when you see negativity, look at it as a positive, in a way. They care enough to complain, and from a true gamer, that's love.

They never dropped subscriptions tho', did they?

People hate on ZOS mainly because they make up their own stuff about what ZOS said and then believe it and get all uppitty when ZOS do something different to that which they never actually committed to in the first place.

Go on any other dev site and it's all the same. Gamers moan, we're never happy and our current game is always the worst game around before, during and after.

Each dev forum has its fair share of the following 4 threads:

    The worst game I've played
    The most buggy game around
    The devs don't give a ***
FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE DEVS!!one11!!omfg!!111!

Then you have those dev forums which have a number of games within the same series. Those are usually full with the current offering is the worst offering thus far type threads. Take the Beth forums for example, they were carnage when Morrowind first released because it wasn't Daggerfall, because Oblivion wasn't Morrowind and because Skyrim wasn't Oblivion.

We moan, it's what we do and what we enjoy doing.

Personally I probably wouldn't be playing if there was a sub. Look at FFXIV. They have a sub, but their game sucks. No one can convince me otherwise. WoW has a sub, 'nuff said.

Now maybe if I was around from the start I'd feel differently but it seems many who don't seem to like the game are still playing the game. Why is that? Nonetheless, this is game forum.. same all over the universe.

But the thing is players been asking for one all they way back to beta roughly 2 years ago and they had the time and money to make a concept of a area in the IC. So why turn it into another stupid PvE gauntlet instead of a actual arena?
