Trophies don't take up inventory slots, right?

XarxesTheScribe
Trophies such as rare fish. I can't do anything with them -- delete or store in the bank. Just curious as to whether these things are taking up precious bag space.

Trophies? I think you can instantly sell them or delete them, as they count towards the achievements as soon as you loot them.

They do take slots, fish can be sold as they are added to the achievement tab on pickup, normal trophies must be clicked on or "used" to get added to their affiliated achievement.

You can also use them towards the achievement on alts.

Blue fish are quite valuable to sell to NPC merchants if you don't need them.

It won't let me do anything with them. Blackspotted Pike, Mola, as well as other fish, and non-fish trophies. I can't even deposit them in my bank.

With the fish, you can't do anything with them on the character that caught them other than sell to an npc merchant or destroy them. They automatically count towards the achievement, so you cannot use them. You should be able to put them in your bank though, I do that all the time to use fish and mob trophies on alts, I'm confused as to why you can't do that. What platform are you on? (I am on PC and just wondering if it is different on console).

I'm on PS4. I literally can't do anything with them. They are stuck in my inventory. I seem to be stuck with this long list of junk taking up space.

You can destroy them once you've used them for the achievement register. That's what i do.

There are three kinds of "trophies"...

    - the creature drop collectibles, which must be used to be added to your collection, at which time they will vanish. But still can be sent per bank to your main/alts, to choose who does the collecting, which I heard they will make impossibe some patch coming soon...

    - the rare fish, which are added to your collections as soon as you catch them, and then can be sold. And yeah, we all wish that "using" them when you already collected the fish would give perfect roe instead of them just being vendor trash once you got the first...

    - and the ones from public dungeons which initiate something on use, which remain in your inventory until the PTB figure out how to put them on a "collections" tab like costumes and pets. Which they might, or might not, depending on how much they want different alts all have to work for those.

Firstly, I think you should have started a new thread, but it's all good.
Secondly, these are trophies for completing the quests in Public Dungeons which give a small effect or animation. I kept them all on my main but have been trashing them since.

Nope, but some of them actually give a benefit (Blackfeather Court Whistle gives a 1m decreased stealth detection radius). Some also place wonderful items around for you to leave in starter zones for the newbies to have fun with (sack of flesh, bear trap) so I keep those too for the fun.

The trophies are just a fun thing from the dungeon; there's no achievement related to keeping them as you would have already gotten it by completing the quest.

They do take slots, fish can be sold as they are added to the achievement tab on pickup, normal trophies must be clicked on or "used" to get added to their affiliated achievement.

Trophies that count towards achievements, i.e. rare fish or monster collectible drops, no longer have to be "USED". They automatically credit the achievement as soon as they are 'in the bag'. This change was made several patches ago, the same patch which made them unbankable, much to the chagrin of players chasing those achievements.

There is a simple distinction between the types of trophies. If it can be sold to a vendor, the trophy counts for an achievement. If it can be destroyed but not sold, it has nothing to do with achievements. In either case, they consume bag space, and keeping them or removing them is a matter of personal choice and tolerance for bag space.
