Templar Healing Question.

If I want to be an effective Templar healer in both PvP and PvE (but especially PvP), do I need to gear for max magicka and spell damage with food, or can I build for magicka recovery with drinks (around 2300 without potion buff).

I really want to make to make a magicka recovery build so I never have to spend any time heavy attacking, but I don't know if my heals will be strong enough then.

What your heals lack in strength you can make up in frequency. Plus, the more you heal, the more crits you get! Go for reduced cost and regen and you'll be an asset to any team

there's lots of ways you can supplement your healing (max mp, regen, mundus stone, spell power, crit rate, crit damage/heals, what heals you slot...)

Find something that fits how you play! Plus, if you're pvping, you can do lots of things to help your allies besides heal. Toss some spears to knock enemies down/spear shards at any stamina using allies, charge-interrupt any crystal shard casting sorcerors, Toss dark flares on enemy Templars to screw up their healing, use reflective light to boost your crit and hurt people... Lots of options as a Templar

You already did it right! If you stilll want more healing go for "cleansing ritual" 30% passive + "of the healers" 10% bonus healing. Get the healer-CP for effective healing if necessary. Remember that it is not your fault, if players do not care about their defenses. . Sorcerers have 1 amazing 13-14k class absorb shield they (must) spam. Nightblades got dodge-chance equip, etc. DKs have their 30+20%+xx% class self heal. Your healing will be there but DKs and Sorcs have great ways to help themselves. So, a sorc will have 18k HP + 13k absob, etc.

I Suggest the guardian monster helm and shoulder as well for magicka recovery. Now I dont think going full recovery is going to help as much as you think. Alot of the damage can be burst ( getting hit for 17k and stuff) and you'll need to cover enough dmg in heals so the 2nd one doesnt just take you out. On that note i know getting magicka back as a templar without targets to hit with resto staff ( also dangerous to do so) is hard. So i do suggest this monster set.because it goes off on any spell and u dont need a target. the VR6 set gives you about 13,500 magicka back with a 10% chance this should remove the need to use the staff for magicka returns and you can make it go off without a target. This in turn will let you drop magicka regen and boost your spell power so your heals will crit for more and you can close the gap on the crit damages. Also it'll help boost harness magicka for yourself so u dont get ganked. I Also suggest using magelight morph to reduce stealth damage. it will keep savy rogues from taking people out quickly.

Anyways with the set you should be able to keep regen around 1400-1700 without any issues really.

Im only v2 but have 22k magicka, 16k hp and 9k stam (buffed) with 1200 spell dmg and 1k regen.... I use 5 pc seducer and 4 pc magnus since i heal with dual swords for the set bonus.... Using a resto staff on my off bar incase i need a quick regen.... But even in vet dungeons i drop channeled ritual and purifying ritual and can spam BoL pretty much nonstop, i use the healing ultimate to give me a few seconds of regen asap, and usually magicka pot when its up.... Using my resto staff i drop almpst 300 spell damage over dual welding. Its a really easy setup and effective.... It only gets better with higher lvl gear and cp's

And with cp 12% crit bonus, cyrodil bonus and magelight i run 72% crit, so 1-2 BoL on an empty group hp fills everyone up, wait a sec for a regen tick then heal again

Regen is a little shy but this is exactly what everyone is doing that is doing it correctly. Magnus isnt as needed i think there are better options i think. But thats just me but still pretty much on the head. Honestly all you would need is the monster set. ( if you want a good 5pc set sanctuary and seducer will get you 5pc 5pc sets. sanctuary 5set is +12% healing on nearby targets i believe stacked with focused healing on purify ritual and its pretty potent.
